I agree Gary, Hastings made me feel like a criminal. I applied first on a comparison site a few days before.. I had problems filling in Hastings own web form, page kept going off or backwards.. They called me to say there was a problem. Turned out a tick in wrong place said Husband had provisional license actually has HGV. This would not save me money so why would I falsely claim this? The tone and the way I was spoken to was as though I was deliberately trying to defraud them. Also my job title was going to change within a few days so put my new job on Hastings form. Was told you can't do that call back in a few days and pay us extra £40! I canceled the policy. They sent me a letter saying they had cancelled policy due to details that affected it had come to light, unbelievable!

i think you made a good decision, Sad how are steel industry has declined. I don't think Moffat is well liked by many in the Steel Industry ,here in Wales probably not liked in Port Talbot much after destroying jobs in 80s Which Jaguar do you prefer X or S type? To be honest like X but aim to get another S, just something about them, love the shape.

Sorry to hear about the x type- at least they caught them- scum. I know the steel works, years ago I was relief Chef for company who had contract for canteens there. I did cook there a few times.If you where there in 90s may have had one of my meals😃 It's a small world.

Hi Coupeman, Now that's a hard one! It's all to do with personal preference. Do you prefer Diesel ? Do you want Auto or Manual? Do you want an estate? They are good compact cars, diesel suited best if you do high mileage. 3.0 v6 engine reliable and quick The x type are all good comfortable cars I have diesel manual 2.2 Sovereign bought it April - pulls well, nice to drive had to replace turbo actuator cost £220 for part was told common fault, also doors sticking seems common, WD40 solves problem. As with all cars check for rust. What's important to you?

This my first X type. only bought it April. Enjoying driving it, goes well, had to spend quite a bit to get it right, had problems with air con pump,turbo actuator and reprogram key fob. Sure you will enjoy yours hope you get it sorted soon.

Hi Rick, I am not an expert either just know bits and pieces.( You can try next disconnect the negative battery terminal cable leave 5 minutes (this will reset the motors) now reconnect . Make sure that you have the radio security code before doing this. if it does not solve problem from what I have read as you have described it, could very well be a door stuck in the heater matrix I believe in that case you have to replace complete matrix. Some of the other members are really good and may be able to help further.

Hi Could be stuck door or faulty motor possibly to test door¬ Turn the blower on high then press the recirc button. Is the blower speed faster and louder? Blower speed should increase when turning the recirc on. If it does not then the door may be broken and stuck in recirc mode which will cause the front windscreen to fog up, air will not blow there .
