  1. I recently changed the engine oil & filter, air filter & fuel filter. My next job will be to change the spark plugs. My question is, what do I do about the inlet manifold gasket? Apparently a new one cost about £70, but it doesn't need changing if it's still OK. How do I know if it's OK without removing it? Bit of a 'Catch 22' situation. I buy a new one & don't use it, or I don't buy one & the car's off the road for a week till I get one & finish the job.
  2. Hi Peter, Can't you just copy & paste the URL, so that we can see it?
  3. Is this it Peter? http://www.datsc.com/Technical-Resources/ErrorCodeDetails.aspx
  4. Well, I received a phone call a few hours later telling me that my motor was sold as standard, with no extras & to contact them about servicing etc... :(
  5. I have just emailed them. I'll let you know the results when they reply. Thank a lot for your help. Andy.
  6. Thanks Peter. I checked with vindecoderz, but they only give info on speed, suspension, fuel type, horse power, stroke, bore & things like that. I'll keep the info, but it's not comprehensive enough. I guess I'll have to contact Jaguar as you suggest.
  7. Hi Everyone, How can I get more information about my 2003 3.0 Sport S-Type? I read other members' posts about parking sensors, heated seats & power fold door mirrors & I am thinking "Does my motor have any of these fitted, & is it just a fuse?" I have the driver's handbook, but it covers all additional extras, saying things like "On models fitted with heated seats...." There must be a way to determine exactly what is & is not fitted on mine as new. This all started with me parking on a narrow street & trying to push the door mirrors in. They wouldn't budge, so I thought that maybe they have power fold. I tried the usual buttons on the drivers door, to no avail & am now wondering if the mirrors are just a bit stiff or is it a blown fuse? I don't want to break them off! Thank you or any assistance that you may give me. Andy.
  8. Yes, that's the one. Mine's the offside one though. No more than 20 minutes work to remove the lamp, then you can mess with it in your house.
  9. I'm in the middle of changing my font offside fog lamp. I noticed that it wasn't working after buying the car. If you get at eye level with the lamps, you will see 3 plastic clips along the front off the grill. Remove these by turning them a quarter of a turn to the left. You could use pliers, but I just used my hand. Next, remove the small trim from the side of the lamp, which just pulls off from the right (for the offside lamp) then there are 2 allen bolts which are about 4 mm to remove. That is it, apart from disconnecting the wiring, which is straightforward.
  10. Hi Christopher, Mine has a 69 litre tank. so to fill it from empty at today's fuel price, would cost £80.
  11. Hi Paul, Thank you for posting these workshop Manuals. Just one question. (so far!) Are the second, third & fourth downloads all the same? Kindest regards. Andy.
  12. I joined the club yesterday after buying my first Jag, a 2003 S-Type 3 litre sports automatic. The first thing that I did this morning was change the petrol filter, air filter, oil filter & oil. When I took the belly pan (if that's what it's called!) off, it was filthy with old grease & oil which I expected with a car of this age. The thing is, that there was an oil absorbent pad which I removed, but would like to change. It also looks like there used to be another one, which is missing. Does anyone know where I can buy the original pads, or should I just cut out new ones from sheets that are readily available at yacht chandlers?
