  1. But surely it the water pump was faulty then it would of over heated in your drive after 30 mins running.
  2. Not always! The gases from a cylinder can leak through head gasket into coolant (which would increase coolant temp) without going to the oil ways.
  3. Can't see the point in changing the water pump, if it's faulty it would overheat within mins and you have had it running for 30 mins on your drive with the gauge staying on normal. I hate to say it but it sounds like HGF to me, as it's fine until you drive it (load on engine) and I have seen more 2.5s that any other S engine with HGF. Sorry!

I always declare my car has lpg and it's insuranced to not cover the conversion, so if it did get written off I would remove the lpg for my next vehicle away. I don't think my insurance costs any more because of this.
  5. The reason I ask is mine doesn't have the premium loom. It's a 55 plate facelift which left the factory non touch screen, I have always been unhappy with the stereo sounds so after fitting touchscreen etc I was thinking of then fitted the premium set up but no having the loom plus the cost of the premium amp ( £170 + speakers) l decided to go after market amps and speakers.
  6. Ok, so is it only cars with touch screen which have the premium loom?
  7. Don't scrap it! I'm sure one of us would buy it! I fancy a V8!
  8. Hi, So the car was wired for premium sound set up then, I understand there is a plug in the boot which is all the speaker feds for the amp and also all the speaker feds back to doors. Which means there is 2 sets of speaker plugs in the doors, one std and other premium?
  9. Hi all,I have been toying with the idea of fitting DAB to my jag for the last year, so I decided to buy a manufacturer refurbished Pure Highway 300di kit. Here's some pictures-The kit normally comes with a aerial which sticks on the inside of the windscreen (which I understand these aerials are just to get you started) but this came with a upgrade Active aerial = Result. My problem is I don't have a installation guide on the aerial, so I email the seller who said contact Pure highway which I did and they said they don't have any info on how to fit it but your installer should! Great help!I have also been through their downloads with no joy. Also tried google and youtube. What I'm unsure about is where on the screen does it go i.e left, right or middle? and where the small strip which pushes into the inside bit sticks too - the car's body or just the glass? Also is this ok with a heated screen? Any ideas? Thanks.
  10. Well I have a reply from them-Hi Mr .....,Our Technical director has taken a look at your photos. There is evidence of material on the backing plate so we do not believe this is a detachment so this wear could indeed be caused by a sticking calliper. However we would like to see the product to further investigate and in doing so would like to offer you FOC rear pads and discs. Please can you give me your registration or Mintex part numbers for these products. That's what I call a result!
  11. Yes new discs now needed again, they were changed about 30k ago. Emailed manufacturer saying want both discs and pads replaced.
  12. Maybe but not 1000 miles! Yes EPB was reset after pad change and with handbrake on both rear wheels locked and then off both wheels spin freely.
  13. So you can't decide if they are too loud yet? I sold them because I just didn't get round to fitting them but going by you not being 100% on the noise level then I think I did the right thing in selling as my S has no cats in the exhaust which makes it louder so with these black boxes it would of been too loud!
  14. Hi all,2 weeks ago I removed my rear wheels to investigate grinding from the rear to find this -But more shocking is the fact that I fitted new rear Mintex pads at the start of March so they have done 1k/5 weeks! Before you say it yes the slide bolts are nice and free, with pads removed the caliper can be moved side ways with one finger. The pad material has sheared off and removed itself from the brake.Thanks.
  15. It's about time! I was beginning to think you had forget about them!

    Lpg

Every install of lpg (but not my present S) I have done has been followed by a trip to a lpg specialist to check it over and put it on the register. But I'm feeling this is a waste of time as every insurance company (and I change companies every year) over the last 6 years have not asked or checked it's on the register and you only get £10 off read tax per year.

Hi all,I'm thinking of maybe replaced my hyundai coupe and getting a 2nd jaguar, it would be 2007/8 petrol model which I would fit lpg to.Is there anyone with a lpg powered XF on here?Cheers.
  20. But if your car is a y reg then it doesn't have the ZF box but has the 5 speed ford box!
  21. I think I now need to check if mine fits the car! Thanks.
  22. Ok, but why did the wheel hit the EPB? Cheers.
  23. So why does the 'get me home wheel' fit?
  24. Boot lid seal???? I found mine had a leak then I got her, someone said pull off boot seat and spin 90 deg and refit, it worked for me!
