I have 2007 late S Type R. The car went in for its annual service at my local Jag dealer. When I got the car back, the fuel gauge needle was no longer parked to the left 10 o’clock position. The needle is now all over the place, pointing at random hours on the clock face, sometimes upside down. The dealer put it in engineering mode and reset it, but this hasn’t proven to work and is now reading 12 o’clock with a full tank. Has anyone experienced anything similar and with a solution that can be shared please. Many thanks. Best, Rob

Just an update, , , , , ,I have now done an Ohm's check on the replacement injector & that checks out ok, I checked the others while I was at it & all good, But even more annoying that the old one I took out also checks as ok as well, So that'll end up going back in to save me a coding job.

Hi everyone, I just bought a 2003 SWB super v8 and it’s a fantastic car. It has jagdroid installed, although I’m unsure if that has anything to do with the issue I’m facing. The tvs in the headrests are displaying “video signal is not correct” when I’m trying to play a dvd. I have a disc inserted- i think there’s a remote I’m missing that would perhaps solve this issue. Please could anyone advise? My 7-year old is very excited to watch frozen on the way to Wales tomorrow and I don’t want her to be disappointed. I went on a 4 straight hour journey to and from wales yesterday just to check it was running well at around 75 mph the whole way without stopping. I did burn a little oil, maybe 250ml but I think that’s probably to be expected? Thanks all.

Hi Dale, if you type Amirante Alloy wheels into a search engine, you get lots of hits, particularly for new wheels readily available from the likes of Alloy Wheels Direct and Jaguar Accessories. Not cheap though. N6 JMX

I think your best bet will be a scrapyard as the new ones (for the petrol engine) are NLA : https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/parts/index/part/id/400.1284.3696.16346/brand/jaguar/ As a "prove it or not" test, you could wrap duct tape around where they have been cut, if the problem disappears you have a semi permanent repair (as long as you use duct tape on those two ducts) that will keep you going until you find a used item in a scrappies.

2003 S type unable to start following fob battery replacemen
JOE-DOT-COM replied to Tonna75a's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
Hi By the sounds of it the transponder chip has fell out of the fob when you have take the key/remote apart the battery only effects the opening and closing of the car doors, starting is by a transponder chip in the remote, there two types of transponder chip and small black plastic type chip, about 10mm long and a cylindrical glass type chip, if it wont start this is missing you need to find it and slot it back in the key part of the remote/key pics below, but the are only about 10mm long cheers joe -

I have battled for several months to get the washers to work, having tried replacement Trico pumps; replacement vacuum switch; replacement rubber tubing; thinking that in all probability, the diaphram in the pump must have perished and battled to find an alternative. Eventually, I checked the vacuum pressure from engine block and found it to be good. Then resorted back to my original pump; bought a new vacuum switch and replaced the rubber tubing with a more rigid tube and operated the system free from the dashboard switch, to find it all worked perfectly !!! Problem solved after all this time. It was the tubing that was the problem. The previous rubber tube could not withstand the vacuum suction and was compressing as a consequence and preventing the suction from reaching the pump !! Hope this may help anyone out there Peter Bradfield

I possess a 3.5 SE Type, which I bought brand new in 2002. I put the car into the garage for a few repairs under the bonnet. It was at this time that the Garage informed me that the sills (both sides) are rusted badly! The car is now scrap and off the road, but mechanically & the interior are in good condition. I would like to get rid of the car to make room for another vehicle. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone is interested in having the car for spare parts?
