  2. Little tip with the inertia switch - tap the body of it with the handle of a screwdriver until you hear it deploy with a definite "bah-doy-nnng" then reset it. They have a habit of furring the contacts, especially if sat for a while and this can often cause the fuel pump to not run. Also try the spare key in case the transponder in your main key has died.

  4. I've checked the inertia and it hadn't tripped. So you are correct it's time to get the experts in. I was just going to try a second hand recm as it's an easy swap however can't find an exact part number match.
  5. The fuel pump isn't always noticeable when you switch the ignition on so i'd suggest you get someone who has the necessary diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot. You could spend a lot of time (and money!) firing the parts cannon at it without getting any results. It may be something much more simple like the CPS (crankshaft position sensor) causing your non-start.
  6. If the pump does not run then first check the inertia switch hasn’t tripped inadvertently before you go further.
  7. The ZF 6HP26 is so reliable few people have ever asked. The most common fault is when a garage runs the engine without any oil in the transmission. This breaks the pump in the transmission, I have heard of a fire in the transmission that cooked 3rd and 4th. Otherwise a service changing the filter and fluid fixes it. What's the problem?
  8. I have no diagnostic tools as such. I have replaced fuel and fuel pump checked fuses, relay and diode. The pump doesn't kick in when I turn the ignition on so suspect the rem. This is my last hope before calling in the experts.

  10. What diagnostics have you done?
  11. The car won't start after standing for 3 years. Replaced fuel pump now thinking it may be rear electronic module. The part number of my module is XW4T-13B524-BC however can't find any with exact part number I can find modules YW4T-13B524-BA YW4T-13B524-BB Does anyone know if these parts will be compatible as they both state that they are from an s-type. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks. Gaz.
  12. Thanks for the replies, refurb will happen when the tyres are due a chance, will get them colour matched for a touch up first. Happy safe motoring Terry
  13. Working through the AC system on my X350 looking for an elusive leak, I got confused over pipe diameters and thought my charging manifold was wrongly labelled. The LP side is the larger diameter but the charging point is smaller than the HP one. It seems a strange idea to put the small diameter connector on the larger diameter pipe but that seems to be the norm. 🤔. I'm hoping that the new condenser will solve the problem but time will tell.

  15. Can you recommend anything? Iv searched ali express and id rather use something that has been tried, tested and other owners would recommend.
  16. Welcome to the forum, enjoy.😊
  17. many thanks.i'll drop them a note
  18. Try speaking with the folks at Swallows Jaguar Racing in Rooksbridge, near Bristol. Safe link below: Swallows Jaguar Specialist | Servicing, Performance & Motorsport for JLR N6 JMX
  19. Welcome onboard, lovely looking machine - have many great drives ahead of you. N6 JMX
  20. Welcome aboard and if you don't mind sacrificing a spanner to make it an "S" shape, it apparently makes changing the oil p sender much easier. Not done it myself but saw such a spanner ~25 years ago in my local Jag specialists when i was buying a car from them (XJ40 3.6 Sovereign) - luckily mine didn't fail during my ownership.
  21. Hi Folks, i'm having a d type replica built with replica exhaust manifold and down pipes on a '69 4.2 engine, and i'm a bit in the dark about sports cats for her. anyone got any suggestions? cheers Carl
  22. Hi this is my first Jaguar, so it have been quite a learning curve. It is so much fun to drive. I found my XJ40 sitting in a luxury car dealership with no registration and a ABS problem. It was a real nice locking car and my wife loved it so I bought it site unseen and had it delivered. When checking the service book I found that it had only done 2000k in the last 10 years and it was running poorly, a couple of bottles of injector cleaner, full oil change and service saw it right. As ABS was not mandatory down here until 2003 and being a old circuit racer I had it removed, the car still stops on a dime. I registered the car on historic plates which where I am gives me 60 driving days a year . Since then I have replaced the rear suspension and sway bar bushes and 2 oil pressure senders in 14 months ( they are just so hard to get to). The 3rd one will be a after market universal one as the one we can get down here seem to be rubbish. I'm not completely sure if it will work but the other ones cost $100 au plus so I will give it a try.
  23. That's very interesting, I bought one of these for the my old XJR but had to remove it. Unfortunately the wired FM adaptor only has two switchable frequencies that it outputs on, which are right on top of where BBC Radio 2 sits on the FM band, so all I ended up with was FM 'bleed through' (even when the aerial feed was bypassed) This is because the signal strength is so good where I live that I can get full stereo reception on all of the BBC stations without an aerial plugged into the head unit !
  24. Hi Stuart, The Jaguar part number is AJ810959 however, the Ford part number for the same thing and much cheaper is 6W83-6A642-AA. Hope this helps.
