  2. Thanks mate, I will contact them, as it happens one of my friends just mentioned Swallows to me. He told me they are excellent. I'll give them a call and get it booked in. Many thanks for your help, if there's anything I can do for you just ask. Cheers Dar
  3. Look for Swallows Jaguar Specialist right on your doorstep, Bristol Road, Rooksbridge, see link below. Swallows Jaguar Specialist | Servicing, Performance & Motorsport for JLR Fantastic folk who deliver a service that is second to none. Note I have no connection to them. N6 JMX
  4. Hi Bik3Rz, You mention jag indy. Do you know where they are based? And is it near Bristol? Cheers.
  5. Hi there. They must have undo/redi something incorrectly? So called aircon specialists...I would find jag indy, they should sort it out as they know jags through and through

  7. Hi, I have owned my jag for some 15 years. A couple of years ago I had a reduced performance warning which put the car into limp mode. I took it to my local jag dealership who informed me the super charger cooling pump was failing. I coughed up well over a grand for them to fix it. Which they did. But since then my aircon leaks. The dealership had closed down ( maybe lost their franchise?). I have taken my car to a couple of so called aircon specialist but they just can't fix it, apart from relieving me of money. My question is, if the super charger cooling pump being replaced could have caused the aircon problem? I'm now at my tether. Can anyone help or recommend someone who can? Kind regards Dar
  8. Hi Tamara I would tell you to read my post The Great DPF debate in this forum. Replace both EGR valves. Get the car to a reputable garage and get the DPF removed and professionally cleaned. Do not not have it cleaned on the car as this is a scam. Hope this helps Peter in the UK
  9. Hello, appreciate any advice on the this. I have 3 keys for my 2004 XJ6 X350 model, all have lost their radio sychronisation so I cannot remotely unlock the car. Earlier today I was able to use one set of keys to manually unlock the car and start it. Since then, I can now longer even manually unlock the car. The key just seems to turn in the lock (maybe the heat at the moment is a factor?). I have replaced the batteries in all 3 sets of keys that I have, however that has not helped. Anything else I can try? Anyone who is good to contact regarding this? Thanks in advance! Paul
  10. Hi Steve. FYI The P1000 PCM code can be thrown by a battery disconnection, or possibly low voltage and needs a Drive cycle to be completed to allow the Power Control Module to reset. Drive Cycle Instructions are normally to drive until everything is warmed up and use all the gears with a fairly aggressive right foot. Then leave the car overnight and hopefully it will have reset itself. The P1647 upstream O2 sensor fault refers to a sensor in the exhaust monitoring the Catalytic convertor, so probably worth getting a proper diagnostic on that whilst you are at the garage to avoid damaging the cat. Good luck John BTW the sills you can see from the roadside are plastic covers. The scarry bits are underneath 🙂

  12. Hi John, Thank you for the welcome and for taking the time to offer your advice. I'm not sure how old the battery is, it doesn't look very old but it is a brand I've never heard of - Point S (I've attached an image). I've been out to the shops tonight in the Jag and the EML has come on again (same codes) but no battery light. I'll have my garage run the diagnostic on it next week, but I think a new battery is a good idea. Noted on the rotting sills - I'll keep an eye on mine. Thanks again, Steve
  13. Hi Steve and welcome. First suspect would be a flat battery. Do you have any idea how old it is? A low battery charge is quite capable of throwing all sorts of fault codes and as the codes have not re-appeared that sounds the most likely cause. If you checked the battery just after you got home it may well have indicated a reasonable state of charge. I would give it a full charge and see how it goes. Only really serious problems are usually to do with rusting sills but there are replacements availble to weld in (Mine has been done and is covered in lanogaurd to keep it rust free.) Good luck John
  14. Hi all, I purchased my first ever Jag yesterday, an X Type 2.5 Auto SE AWD (07 plate). All great on the way home, but today the EML and battery lights have flashed up on the dash. I got the car home and checked the battery on a multimeter. 12.5v engine off and 14.5v engine on, so battery and alternator seem to be working fine. I used my cheap OBDII reader for the fault codes and it showed 3 - P1000 PCM didn't complete test cycle, P1647 upstream O2 sensor fault and the third code couldn't be ready by my reader. I did manage to clear the codes and the lights have gone out on the dash. I'm going to book it into my garage next week to have it checked over, but if anyone has encountered this issue before or is aware of what it might be, I would be grateful for any help. I will add that is a hot day today (~27°c) and I did have the air con on full blast. Could this be a potential cause or have I bought a car renowned for electrical gremlins? No regrets from me either way 🙂
  15. Good afternoon! I'm trying to find anyone who has upgraded their XK 5.0 N/A with the Adamesh 4 tip exhaust back box. Firstly I'd like to see what it looks like fitted with the supplied diffuser/valance, secondly what the feedback is on the sound/performance? Unfortunately Adamesh won't reply to me, I don't want to purchase if the diffuser doesn't suit! Thank you!
  16. Welcome Craig 😁
  17. hi there,, taken from xf forum link to post
  18. Hi everybody. I thought id ask people who know. What do i need to change in my 2017 xf r sport to get android auto. I'd prefer to use genuine parts if possible. Thanks for your time. Lee
  19. Hello everyone, hope you may be able to assist! Recently purchased my 2005 4.2L V8 (86k miles) and the handbrake warning (amber) is now illuminated. However the electric handbrake still functions as normal with no problems currently! Looking for recommendations for a local specialist/garage in Southampton, Hampshire area if anyone has any references please. Many thanks.
  20. I've tried the pencil graphite on many things over the years ( Car Fobs, TV Remotes etc ) and it's rarely successful and never lasts for long even if it seems to work ar first. Hopefully the conductive paint will do the job for you.
  21. Hi there, new member with an X351 Autobiography, and already in trouble… Just a few hours ago my suspension fault warning came on, and although I can’t notice any issues with the car (yet) I am quite worried. My Icarsoft LR3.0 doesn’t show any fault with the suspension, so I wonder if anyone in Sussex has an SSD and could check it for me. Thank you in advance! Xander
  22. Update 25. 06.2026 Hi all, thought I would drop in and provide an update on the above article. Wow, I was on one wasn't I 🙂 Yes I still have the same car and we have made it to 115k without any of the previous RP issues whatsoever. She has performed beautifully. I am now changing oil every 6 months regardless. The filter every year. I really hope some of you have saved yourselves heartache from my experience. Its just passing it forward to help other people, we share the golden knowledge without needing feedback. I know your out there smiling now, job done. Rest and be thankful 🙂 Onwards...
