Yes, sticky throttle flap is common and can be fixed by filing it slightly, so it doesn't stick anything. did that in mine. Although never heard of sticky flap throttle and dtc for dpf full as result...

I had a warning that my DPF was full and the car was in "limp" mode. (3 litre F Pace Sport, 45000 miles). After a DPF doctor check, the Data and codes came in at only 20% full, which should have been cleared by a forced DPF clearance run. After a clean out and resetting everything, the car ran for another few hundred miles and went red again showing DPF problem and into "limp" mode. A second visit again showed less than 15% soot in the system, but this guy suggested a look at the throttle box, as this can jam open affecting the turb, as the internal plastic housing can deform due to heat. Sure enough, the butterfly valve was jammed open. It's a common problem apparently. I had a new throttle box and exhaust pressure sensor installed at Jagutek near Ely, and 3 months and 2000 miles on everything is OK..... £600 for a new box and sensor versus £2000+ for a new DPF unit......!!!! Thank you DPF Doctor number 2 !!!!

Did red rp disappeared? If not I would advise against driving it. Could be anything

Hey all. Currently driving from Leeds back home to Dwvon and my red Restricted Performance triangle has appeared. I called a mechanic who suggested the passive DPF clearance, which ive done (currently letting the car chill out after holding 2500 revs for 30 mins) Keeping fingers crossed this is the issue. Has anyone else had this and if so, is the next 150 miles gonna break my lovely jag????

XK8 Key Fobs – A Repair, Sort Of…….
N6 JMX replied to Nige005's topic in XK8 / XKR ( X100) 1996 - 2006
Hi Nige, probably work better if you used a proper contact cleaner - dousing your fob in India Pale Ale (IPA) doesn't sound like a good option!!!!!! Joke. N6 JMX -

Good luck Luca. Still pleased with the repair on mine, no doubt it will have to be repeated but that's not a problem. -

Thanks, I'll give a try, I paid 250€ in Italy for repairing the chips (as I was told they were gone) but still not working, due to the rubber part not making a good contact, apparently. -

N6 JMX replied to Dalia Ju's topic in 1994 to 2003 XJ
Hi Dalia, the link below will take you to the Jaguar Classic Parts website for your model and timing chain options. It looks like they may be available to order direct from JLR. Timing Chains And Adjusters | Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts N6 JMX -

Hi everyone, I’m looking to purchase a genuine timing chain kit for my Jaguar XJ with the V8 3996 cm³ engine (209 kW), model years 2003–2009. I’m specifically interested in a full original kit – timing chain, tensioners, and guides. It must be OE (Original Equipment)preferably from Jaguar/Land Rover directly. If anyone has experience or recommendations for trusted suppliers in the UK or Europe, I would be very grateful! Thanks in advance for your help! Best regards, Dalia

Hello M4ttD! If you are still considering a prospect Daimler or Jaguar car to become a Classic, suggest you go for my Classic Daimler 2008, Super8, Supercharged, V8 w/400 HP Sedan would be a better choice 🧐. Read Daimler Wikipedia for history of this brand and If interested in my Daimler and its background, please contact me at: [email protected]

The Voices started following 2010 XFR aircon compressor replacement
-
The aircon on my XFR has been playing up. Was working fine one day and then no 'cooled' air output. It runs on 'auto' all year round, so thought that sudden refrigerant loss wasn't likely, but a re-gas was maybe worth a try. I thought that rather than do the 106 mile round trip to work to get it done, I would use someone local. This was a mistake, as on both occasions that we took it in for our appointment, the aircon machine malfunctioned ! I then took it into work, first try revealed that the system was only indicating a small amount of refrigerant loss, which was topped up. This didn't have any effect, a more detailed check diagnosed a failed compressor. Not the cheapest component to buy, JLR offer two options, 'new' on an exchange basis at approx £1025 plus a refundable surcharge for returning the old unit, or a re-manufactured unit for approximately £685 plus the same surcharge. I do get parts at cost, so would be significantly cheaper, but still a lot of money on a 2010 vehicle. The supercharger belt and serpentine belt are also meant to be changed at the same time, so there was this to factor in as well. I did some shopping around and eventually settled on this: https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/nrf/13865282?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=orderConfirmation&utm_term=link8&deep_link=orderConfirmation&kmtx_hash=eyJtaWQiOiJ1aWQtNjg0OWRhZmEzMThjMzEuNjg3Mjg1NzUiLCJob3N0IjoiYnV5Y2FycGFydHMuY28udWsiLCJ0eXBlIjoib3JkZXJDb25maXJtYXRpb24ifQ%3D%3D Under £250 with free delivery and a 2 year guarantee. Had it fitted earlier and now basking in blissfully cooled air ! Waiting for the bill for the belts and fitting but saved me about £225 compared to the re-manufactured unit, even at 'cost' price.

This is a common fault on the XK8 and here is a video showing you how to repair it.
