I got told that you need the correct lens / reflectors for hids and if you just fit the kit with out new lens ect could fail the mot :-/ well this is the warming I got about the kits you got you self for about 150

I have and hid kit for main bean and sides for sake got it for my Volvo but sold that got the jag which has hid ,, they are a lot better then my Volvo light :)

Tell me, I replaced my old headlamp new lens with xenon. Wiring and connectors to remake didn't have, but the middle light is not lit. Who knows Why ?

Just in case anyone else looks at this feed. I fitted a HID kit to my headlights about 8 months ago, I bought it off e-bay for around £45. A bit fiddly to fit due to access but made such a difference to the level of illumination at night. Yes, it could technically fail an MOT but I had no such issues when I went for mine.

Before you take a decision - the self levelling went on my nearside HID lamp last year and it was permanently set on low.  As a result the car failed the MOT and it cost me nearly £800 for a complete nearside lamp unit - dipped and main beam.  The HID lights are good but expensive to repair if they go wrong.

Fitted a £75 HID kit from Ebay absolutely brilliant! (sorry)

Just passed it's MOT, no problems

Added a £25 main beam kit from ebay ( china ) great improvement on standard light

will upgrade dip lights during summer not problem with 2 mot s

also as for the adjusters on the lights failing again I bought an aftermarket kit ( contains both sides in the kit adjusters and mountings instead of being made just from plastic like the original ones in the lights these are steel reinforced resin fitted with no problem and feel much more stable than the the originals that crumbled like a sugar cube
