UK South East Meet Spring/Summer 2015 in Brighton

Does anyone else have a spare seat in case of anyone being without their car on the day due to accident or breakdown?

We have two attendees so far, listing spare space if needed, from Berkshire and Hackney, anyone from any other areas have spare space in case?

It just might make the difference to one of us having a 'bad car day', ensuring they can make the meet despite it and still have a great Jaguar day :-)

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can offer a seat just in case..

The next Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet will be happening on 24th May 2015 - Just over FOUR weeks away now! This meet will be our fourth one, and we will have been running this event for two years now!

This Spring/Summer event is Jaguar exclusive, but if you have a car of another marque don't worry - the Winter event will again be open to all marques with a warm Jaguar welcome for everyone.

For those who don't know, the event comprises of two components - an initial meet at Pease Pottage Services with Welcome packs and goodie bags handed out, and a convoy at a steady 65mph down to the main meet and event in Madiera Drive, Brighton. The distance is approx 24 miles on major roads which should ensure all attendees can manage it without issue.

At the main meet in Brighton we have breakfasts (from £2.99), photo shoots, socialising, industry attendees there to answer all those questions you have never managed to get answered, a FREE prize draw for some SNG Barratt goodies, and more - and all with the backdrop of the Victorian promenades, and everything a family could possibly want on a day out with the Pier, the beaches, the sea gently rolling in, the Proms, and a huge local shopping centre.

This year we are sandwiched in the middle of a month of MG, Mini, and Classic Car Meet days so I am sure our meet will raise
a lot of interest... esp with one or two brand new showroom XE's there, literally *just* delivered to Harwoods Brighton, hopefully in attendance on the day!!

We are already listed as an official event with Brighton & Hove, & East Sussex Councils - and I am working on trying to get further advertising and newspaper coverage in place if I can,,

If you would like to attend this convoy and meet ( a guaranteed great day out for you, your family and your car) please put your name forward and I will be happy to add you in.

You can put a post up on this thread if you wish to attend, or you can email me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk - either way I will happily add you in.. as usual I need to know if you wish to attend just the main meet, or the meet and the convoy, your car and year, and how many people will likely be travelling in the car..

We even have a NEW live Twitter feed for our event @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet - why not follow our updates, news and info as we go there?

The itinerary, parking, & breakfast costs are all listed in this thread, so there are no surprises for those of us on a budget - but the event itself as such is FREE and will remain so.

Should you be without your car for any reason on the day please contact anyone below listed as having free seats - we look after our own and would still love you to be able to come!

If you haven't been before and would like to check up on some of our recent Bi-Annual Convoy and Meet events please have a

Just a reminder of our itenerary for the day:

08:15 Meet at Pease Pottage Service Station at the base of the M23.
08:20 Initial 'Welcome to the Event' greeting, and packs handed out.
08:30 Depart in convoy for Brighton (cruising speed 65mph)
09:00 Park up in one large parking block in Madiera Drive.
09:00-10:00 Big Breakfast in 'The Madiera' (b/fast from just £2.99)
10:00 General social events etc. Plus your chance to be one of the first to book that Jaguar XE test drive! and to chat with the industry attendees about any car issues you may have.
11:30 Group signings of banner, and group photos for the forums

The parking is pay and display at this location and is £1 for an hour, £5 for two hours, £10 for four hours, or £15 for 11 hours (I would suggest for most people the £10 parking option will be sufficient). Your meal will be from £2.99 per person.. so hopefully no shocks or surprises if you are on a budget

I'm playing catchup this week after two weeks of car hunting (hence you have probably noticed my change of car in the attendee list :-)) so apologies but if you bear with me for a few days more & I'll be completely back up to speed..

Just a quick update - today I received the brochures and goodies from Harwoods Jaguar for the Welcome Packs, they have been very supportive and generous in what they have given us, and I am sure you will all be able to put the contents to good almost daily use :-)

Many thanks again to Harwoods for their support of our event.

If you have a look at the thread here: UK Meets you will see I am making a few changes to the future format of this regular event. I am *very* open to feedback, ideas, and anyone who may want to start to get more involved in this event if they would like to.

Fundamentally I have been organising this event for two years now as a Bi-Annual event, and now I need to balance home life and forum life, whilst also trying to step our event up to the next level.. yes, it does actually come out plusses all round somehow lol

So, if everyone is Ok with it I am making this event an annual event, no longer bi-annual.. but at the same time I want to start scaling things up for us, getting more sponsors onboard, and maybe getting us to the stage of actually taking over the road :-) But at the same time keeping the event FREE to everyone that signs up and comes along.

OK Just a brief summary for you - so far we have 57 cars, and 85 people signed up, cars from 1968 through to 2014 attending, we have breakfasts from £2.99 adults and 99p children, Harwoods and The Automatic Gearbox Company in attendance, Jaguars new baby the XE, test drive bookings being taken, a free prize draw, a great chance to socialise and mix with the people you see online, have a great morning checking out classic, modern and new Jaguars.

Then on top of that you have the Victorian promenades as the backdrop for the photo shoots for the forums, the beach in front of you with the sea gently rolling in, the small designer shops in the Lanes, the main shops in the city centre, fish and chips, ice creams, amusements all there within a short distance..

If you haven't already signed up why not? It's a great day out.. oh yes almost forgot you also get to be in a Jaguar convoy, to be part of making a huge impression on arrival in Madiera Drive, and we have free Welcome Packs with select info and goodies for you.. so go on treat yourself and your car to a great day out... just pop a post on here or email me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk

I will update you more after I have made it home, end of day today.. but it is looking like the Welcome Packs will be well
worth you signing up for :-)

If you are still wondering whether to come along.. why not? It's free - all parking and food costs are at a minimum and listed in the thread, and you will have a fantastic day out!

The next Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet will be happening on 24th May 2015 - Less than THREE weeks away now!

This year we are sandwiched in the middle of a month of MG, Mini, and Classic Car Meet days so I am sure our meet will raise a lot of interest... esp with one or two brand new showroom XE's there, literally *just* delivered to Harwoods Brighton, hopefully in attendance on the day!!

The next Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet will be happening on 24th May 2015 - Less than TWO weeks away now!

If you haven't been before and would like to check up on some of our recent Bi-Annual Convoy and Meet events please have a look here: UK South East Meet December 2014 in Brighton or UK South East Meet Spring/Summer 2014 in Brighton

Hi Guys - sorry not a lot of updates today but yesterday and today have been down with a flu/stomach bug :-(

However we do now have the mini, and full size, forum decals through for everyone so I think everything we are due to have in our Welcome packs is through - subject to one other possible sponsor.

11:45 Prize Draw for the SNG Barrett Goodies, the numbers to be drawn by Tony

The parking is pay and display at this location and is £1 for an hour, £5 for two hours, £10 for four hours, or £15 for 11 hours (I would suggest for most people the £10 parking option will be sufficient). Your meal will be from £2.99 per person.. so hopefully no shocks or surprises if you are on a budget

Just a quick update to let you know that in addition to the Welcome Packs and Goodie bags we now have a limited supply of Jaguar car posters which will be available on the day on a first come first served basis!

This again is in addition to the free prize draw for £25 gift voucher and a great branded umbrella very kindly donated by SNG Barratt, Harwoods Jaguar are bringing along an XE for you to check out, and be amongst the first to book a test drive in it!

We have cheap unlimited breakfasts from 99p for children and £2.99 for adults, PLUS all the social events including a huge convoy into Brighton, meeting all those people you know online, exchanging ideas, fixes, and catching up with forum activities, photo shoots prior to the convoy and towards the end of the meet for our sponsors *and* for the forum threads..

We will be using the Twitter hashtag #MayJagMeet up to the event with the latest info, and on the day trying to keep a live feed going there, as we go. You can always follow us at @JFBrightonMeets

Currently we have 59 cars and 87 people coming along so if you are not yet signed up, or are just undecided why not pop a post on here or email me directly at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk and join in this great free Jaguar event!

OK, the final things are starting to fall into place:

Your prize draw tickets are printed up - you will find one in your Welcome pack.. just tear off the right hand side of the ticket on the day and pop it into the Prize draw ticket box and you will be in the draw, noting you will need to be around when Tony performs the draw later in the day, in order to win..

Noting if you are not around when Tony draws your number he will then draw another ticket... until we find a winner!

*But* a £25 voucher will go a long way towards your next Jaguar parts purchase, or a gorgeous branded umbrella that will keep the rain away, so it is well worthwhile making sure you are there when the draw takes place.

Meanwhile I have just started off some heavy advertising with our Twitter account to see if we can raise some more interest in our event..

I only have two more jobs to do as such - one is to remind The Madiera Harvester we are coming and the other is to assemble all our Welcome Packs.. and keep working on the odd jobs on my new 1998 XJ8 to get it as ready as I can for the day :-)
