Hi Carl, and welcome to the club.

The S Type is a very good and sturdy car, and the ZF  automatic gearbox is the one fitted in Rolls Royce, Bentley, and BMW inter alia.

Like everything mechanical, it has its foibles, such as the occasional lurch, and although ZF will say it is sealed for life an Oil change at 70k has been very beneficial for some members .

Look forward to driving a future classic car.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Carl and welcome to THE Jaguar OWNERS CLUB. I've not experienced ay problems with my auto box and being in a XKR I tend to drive it quite hard at times. What sort of mileage has your new car?

Hi I've just become a proud owner of Jaguar S-type, and just joined the club too. I am still finding my way around all the features etc, but I think I may have come unstuck with AC problems. When I select AC and drop the temp to low I am not getting cold air, on any settings. Can any body give help advise on this prob?

Hi Hasu, and welcome to the club.

Jaguar say that your AC should always be left on auto.   I find that it takes a little time to get the operation to cold, but last Wednesday with the temperature around 28 celsius in London, I was down there and it kept me nice and cool all day.

Does your car have the touchscreen, and is it a petrol or diesel, as that can make a difference?

Also have you got the owner's manual? If you haven't it is available to download just by googling  S type Jaguar - Owner's Manual

There is a Jaguar Owners Club meet at Gaydon on the 19th September and there will be quite a few s type owners there.

Let us know how it you get on.

Regards,

Peter.
