After a struggle to get the airbox lid off this is what I found.

Bearing in mind it was "serviced" in December when I bought it!!

I found getting the lid off quite easy, although it could be that the lid on mine had been taken off regularly.

I think that, once you get the lid off and see how it's secured, things become easier the next time.

Terrible! Have a good moan to the garage and consider Trading Standards.

Not really into moaning about a garage unless it's something dangerous and life threatening.

I can only assume the mechanics couldn't get the lid off so left it.

Apart from this minor blip the dealer I bought the car off went above and beyond with the sale anyway due to the finance muppets!!

Not so bad then but it really annoys when things aren't done correctly. at least your engine will be able to breathe now.

Hi

I also had a very dirty air filter on purchase so BEWARE it may also effect the MAF sensors within the intake pipes-I suggest a squirt of electrical cleaner-as otherwise a dirty AMF sensor will effect the fuel/air mix.
