Thought I would start a positive post on what you have done with your Jaguar today.

Today I replaced all of the carpets in my boot, as the ones that were in-situ when I bought the car, had a nasty smell in them.

I purchased the carpets second-hand from JagBreakers.

Fitted new McGard locking wheel nuts purchased from Euro Car Parts - originals were well worn and rusty.

Replaced the remaining (16) wheel nuts as well - purchased from Jaguar.

Replaced original centre caps with nice new red centre caps - purchased from Amazon.

Replaced the tyre valve dust caps with new chrome Jaguar dust caps - purchased from Amazon.

Also gave the car a good wash and brush-up, inside and out.

All in all, a busy day :)

First, looked out of the window to see if it was still there.

Second, thought about washing and drying her.

And on the to do list, check oil and top up screen wash.

Then go to Lichfield to pick up two grandchildren from school.

Peter.

Took it to the garage - Cost me nothing !!

Switched off the warning light, but can't find anything wrong.

Mine is an X type estate I put in a new boot liner and a new second had ash try   assembly I bought off of eBay for £20 as the facia on the old one was scratched.

After some good advice, today I changed the drivers door seal on my S type. Easy to do once you know how :wink1:

I discovered one of my alloy wheels is damaged and is the cause of a very slow loss of air. So I hunted around on eBay and bought a set of 18" proteus alloy wheels.

Today all I've done is unload.

Yesterday though I took my "Thomas" layout to Beamister, Dorset where our

Bridport & District MRC were having an exhibition.

Folded in two this fits the 'X' type boot exactly, just a few mm to get in & out

Built for children to drive, but you need eyes in the back of your head.

Got home tired and my voice failing !!

On my XF. Turned off the auto wipe for wipers and auto head lamps off..Windscreen covered in frost so don't want them working over an icy screen when 1st starting! The auto head lamps I turn off because the 1st thing you do after the windscreen has defrosted is to give a squirt of washer and if the head lamps are on and fitted with washers the pop out washer in the bumper can be frozen to the bumper and ends up with the motor pushing and snapping the cover off.

I took my new proteus alloy wheels to the tyre shop where there were two new tyres waiting for me purchased online and a reduction of £20 a corner over the  turn up and pay price. ( 2 of the existing tyre are nearly new and were to be put on the new wheels.)  Rather annoyingly when another tyre shop had one of the wheels off to discover it was damaged giving me the excuse to upgrade they had over tightened the wheel nuts so much so one of them broke off today. No one can fix this until Monday so my new wheels still aren't on my car. Annoying or what.

Hi

I swapped the the old tired leaper and badge, the chrome had started to peel on the leaper

For Black ones, there's not much chrome on the S type R's,

looks different, think I prefer it.

cheers

fitted some new 18" wheels to my S type  because  i got sick of messing about with that silly valve adapter system on my BBS wheels that were on it. Just need to buy some new centre caps.

Thanks Peter, i can't decide if it needs small centre caps or if a bigger hub cap to cover all the bolts would be better.

Hi Phil,

I have never seen a bigger cap on an S type.  My centre caps need renewing when I get round to it!

If you come across a bigger cap let me know and I will see if it suits my s type wheels.

Hi all,

Haven't been running the ST much over the winter months but pulled her out today for the MOT.

Passed the MOT - needed an indicator bulb

Had a new auxiliary belt fitted - old one was a bit tatty and was squealing in the cold

Air conditioning fix (again) - this time was wire rot behind bumper, all running lovely now for the summer

Oil and filter change - have this done on any visit to the garage

With the new wheels on and everything running sweetly, I'm a very happy Jag owner :driving:

@JimC64 she certainly does deserve a look.

Can I ask what sort of wheels you have picked?

Senta's, nice!    I looked at them for mine before I found the Volans, which are off now, for sale soon.  Not pushing them btw, just saying :wink1:

What tyres are you going for?  I used Kumho on my rears which are excellent.
