DAB radio

Featured Replies

My S-Type has the Audio Connection Module.

I was wondering whether there might be a DAB module, small enough to fit in the centre console where the cup holders normally go, that produces an output either via phono or USB so I can feed it into the ACM.

Any ideas gratefully considered please

Hey Paul,

I want a DAB in my S-Type as well, but I'm not lucky enough to have the ACM like you, so I'm going for a double DIN DAB with inputs for iPhone, USB and MP3. I've not selected the actual model yet but that is the plan. I got a really nice Philips DAB for my MGF, but it's single DIN, something restrained that doesn't look like a cheap mobile disco would be preferred as the Jag is too classy for that!

Good luck!

Lucky you

I know it's not small, but could something like this be "modified" to fit in the boot and be wired in:

Hi Paul

I use my phone, use the app "tunein" there's 1000's of digital stations through your phone

Its the best i've seen, its uses my data, but its not a lot and i get unlimited anyway

send it to the stereo with my RII Geartist GB01 bluetooth fm transmitter and the sound quality is the best ive seen so far

cheers

OK.

Thanks Joe  Useful information. Something I'd never considered.

To be fair, I was just trying to expand the capabilities of the ACM, and DAB was one of the things I thought about.

Hi

yes DAB is good, only problem is you need a good signal and sometime a booster to get it in strong

so sometimes its on and off in a car, its like digital tv, you need a good signal and descent aerial, which is awkward in a car

cheers

Joe

DAB is great, especially 6 Music, but as Joe says, it's all down to signal. I fitted a DAB in my MG and there are areas I can get blanket coverage, other places I know it will drop out. It is less forgiving than FM and hopefully the coverage will improve as time goes on...
