apparently they are going to change the rules on MOT testing, which is to come in around may ?  if this does happen make sure that your DPF does not emit any smoke !  for more info search on the internet.

hi

yes any visible smoke is a fail, also if the dpf has any visable modifications, dpf removed, egr removed or blanked, are a instant fail

also if you take it early and it fails, you can now get fined up to £2500 for driving it on the road.

My MOT is due on the 20th June.  I usually have it done a couple of weeks before then, and the new rules start on the 20th May.

Not had a fail or advisory in the last 5 years.

you CAN get fined for driving it on the road if you have the misfortune to get clocked by an anpr equipped plod but its not automatic thing ,one wonders how many of the more unscrupulous MOT test stations will use this to scare folk into having work done by them there and then with this
