I have a 2012 XKR  5L V8 with the original battery which is nearing the end of its life

Can anyone recommend a replacement make

I would go for Varta. Which ever you go for, give it a charge before fitting as they rarely come fully charged.

I had a Varta and found it rather good.

When I had to call out the AA when my Platinum battery failed after 3.5 years the AA Officer got a Bosch, and they are also good.

Your choice bu don't get the cheapest one!

Another question

the existing battery is a Varta as photo

i have found a Varta (silver) from Tanya website but it is 100ah instead of 90 and 830A instead of 800ah

would this matter????

Won’t make any difference David, just means you have more available umph for starting.

Got the Varta from the Tanya website I mentioned above

Great free delivery and just £115 which was neatly half my Independent quoted

Take care putting it in!

As an XK owner of similar vintage to yourself, I can tell you it is awkward to get it to the necessary location, and you don’t want to end up with an XK with a new battery, but a back to painful to allow you to get in and out of it!
