Diagnostic machine and DPF

Hi all, 

I have XF 3.0D PL 2010

I've had a fair amount of DPF warnings and had 3 forced regenerations this year. I have seen how to regen on youtube and it doesn't take long to do but when I give it the mechanic they have my car all day! 

I want to buy a diagnostic machine so I can regen myself. Before you say, I  will get it removed and manually cleaned but I'm too busy with work to send it in to the mechanics.

Can anyone recommend a cheap diagnostic machine that will be able to do the force regen ? or at least a certain standard or minimum amount I should spend?
