REPLACEMENT WIPER BLADES

Featured Replies

I have not had to buy replacement wiper blades for many, many years. Now find myself having to replace both of my wiper blades. Cannot remember what make I used to buy and would appreciate suggestions as to what you consider to be the better manufacture of said items. I would sooner pay a little more for something that will last and be of better quality as I firmly believe in "you only get what you pay for."

Best Wishes, John

Hi John,

I quite like Bosch, a good reliable make.

Auto express rated them top

here are top 3

  1. Bosch Aerotwin
  2. Aerowiper
  3. Michelin Stealth Hybrid

HI

+1 for the Bosch Aero, there quite cheap from Eurocarparts when they have there sales on at the weekends

have tried a few different makes and the bosch ones seem to last the longest

if your car is a face lift model you do have to make sure there compatible with the clip on washer jets on the wipers, don't matter with earlier cars as there on the bonnet.

also there a bit awkward to fit as you can only lift the wiper arms a few inches before they hit the bonnet, but easy enough with some patience

cheers

Joe

Joe, Yes my car is a facelift and I am making certain that the washer jets are affixed to the replacement blades. I have looked and it does seem as if it is going to be a fiddly job fitting the replacements. 3-0 to Bosch now then.

Best Wishes , John

Yes for BOSCH replaced my wipers about 6 mths ago still as good as new.

Looks like we are only going one way, Bosch, now 4-0.

Cheers, John

I think we need  a Bosch group on here now! Always found them to be good and not just with car parts.

WE LOVE BOSCH!!!!

Yes Mark may be we do!

Julie

Do BOSCH supply wiper blades that can be fitted at the touch of a button?

I replaced mine recently with Michelin blades, not bad.

To replace the blades I used a small puller to remove the wiper arms, so much easier and kinder to the bonnet paintwork.

Clive, Interested to know how and what puller you used to remove as necessary. I have mine to do and am concerned about damaging paintwork?

Regards and Best Wishes, John

Hi John, you can use a little masking tape a long the bonnet edge. it will save the paint work if something went wrong.

Being an mechanical engineer I used a horse shoe clamp from a 1” engineers vee block. It just gripped the underside of the wiper arm and with a couple of turns of the clamp screw the arm came off with now damage to the paintwork.

You do need the bonnet up.

Job done yesterday afternoon. Fortunately being careful and caused no damage. With bonnet up the Offside (Drivers) was relatively easy. The Nearside (Passenger) was to say the least, "very challenging". Used masking tape and Microfibre cloths to protect the surrounding area, just in case of any mishap.

Best Wishes and Regards, John
