The last few days, when the ignition is switched on, there is a high pitched warning sound and the message  "Cameras not available refer to dealer"

Along with the lack of parking camera I have also lost the parking sensors.

No fault codes 😞

Any ideas please?

Check to see if there is any water in the boot area first but it may be the boot wiring loom at fault. Easy fix if it is.

Hi

Camera and parking sensors work as a a coherent parking assistance system so a fault in any component will automatically shut off the other bits of assistance and warn you that you are "on your own".

Need to get the codes read with a jaguar compliant code reader but if you have already done the boot loom my bet would be a front parking sensor or the front bumper wiring loom. Mine was the wiring loom. @ÂŁ40 for the parts from Jaguar.

Other possibility would be low battery which throws up all sorts of random faults. Does you Stop/Start work?

Good luck

Thanks John

Both batteries are fine. Stop / start works... unfortunately 😉

I can't get to the OBC connector these days so I'll get my friendly ex JLR techy to take a look.

Would you believe it? Everything has returned to normal this morning. I hope the fault has registered for diagnostics purposes because my techy is on the way now to have a look.

Hi. That happened to me too, several times before it finally went altogehter.

See what the codes are as it is quite possible it is a dodgy parking sensor or a dodgy connector / bumper loom.

Good luck

On mine the work was tried at the purchasing dealer (Fiat/Volvo) so clearly they did not have SDD. The fault came up as Front Outer Parking Sensor which they changed but did not cure the problem so sent me to Jag dealer. My understanding is that the Jag Dealer found the same fault code and, as the sensor was already replaced, had a play with the front bumper loom to arrive at their diagnosis.

Solved 🙂

It was the result of corrosion on a contact in the boot fusebox.

Excellent news and thanks for the update.🤙

How did they find the fault location, was it obvious, sounds like one of those problems easy if you know how to diagnose?

There was some obvious corrosion in the area of the fuse box / distribution panel, one of which was a power connection to the parking aid module.

Just had the loom and rear offside light cluster replaced on mine and the reversing camera has worked fine over the weekend. Went out this morning and guess what, "no camers refer to dealer":ranting:

I have just changed the boot wiring loom because of this as I read this is the most common issue. The old loom did have bare copper showing on a few wires so I thought “happy days” cracked it.
Nope, turned ignition on and BEEEEEEEPP. ffs

which is the fuse in question as I’ll check this over.
