Well chaps, the car is running well at moment. No more faults indicated. BUT CRUISE CONTROL DOESNT WORK. Iget message that it switched on, but that is all. I thought a fuse, but which one, no mention of it in hand book. I am sure this must have cropped up before.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi Stan

I know it sounds too simple but check the brake light bulbs to see that they work okay.

Also, worth checking the handbook for operation just in case there is something you have missed in the operating instructions.

Thanks Trevor. I have checked all the lights but on reflection not the brake lights. Will try tomorrow

I had a Rover Sterling for 11 years from a few months old.  All the bells and whistles.

I used to get a problem with the rear lights, but I found that a good bang with the flat of my hand cured it.  It could well have been a loose or poor connection.

It could be something similar with your Jaguar.

Peter.

Well it is not the brake lights. back to the drawing board. Will try connection on brake pedal next.

If the cruise control is powered up and not activating then I can only imagine that there must be a fault code in the system. Your best bet now is to get a code reader from Ebay to extract the code and go from there.

Got a code reader, but I don't have any codes. erased but unfortunately not written down.

Its probably worth checking the brake pedal switch as you say...they can be problematic on other makes which then affect the cruise control
