  1. Thank you to Peter AND Trevor, I have done a basic on my fault by removing a few connecters and spraying with WD 40. guess what, did another test and bingo no faults recorded. on a small run appears to be fine. now accelerates above the 2.5k/rpm. so hopefully recovered. Thanks for your help, its nice to know there is some one to turn to out there that doesn't want hundreds of pounds to help. Regards Stan
  2. Trevor, I did a few bits of research before going for the diesel instead go the petrol engine, and some of the "experts" sat on the fence a bit. Most manufacturers seem to indicate that the Common Rail Diesel, and improved cleaner diesel, combined with a DPF and a well maintained engine give out less fumes than a petrol engine. But I suppose time will tell! Peter.
  3. David Manners Group are not bad and a bit cheaper than the Main Dealers and do have genuine Jaguar parts. They are quite local to me, but do a good online service. eBay are sometimes a bit chancy, but there are some Jaguar Dismantlers who also operate an online service. Peter.
  4. I bought a "new" FOB off e bay for £35. Bought a new Key from e bay - cut to suit from a photo for £14.95. the had my local jag centre (not a delaer) reprogrammed it when doing a 42,000 service - never charged me apart from the two new fob batteries
  5. test your car badge knowledge...easy one to start with - British cars
