Only thing i can think of would be a LPG conversion, but personally would not do that to a classic

i have a feeling the screws are above the ashtray.. take ash tray and this should reveal the screws

I would say that its need adjusting under the car and is too slack.

I doubt it actually have any type of Aux Lead. I would imagne you can get a system that transmits a radio signal and you simply tune in to it

Have you taken a look? Does the spring points need lubricating? Also have you tried WD40 on the joints?
