Its worth getting quotes from reputable independent repairers as they would be cheaper than the dealer but you may also need to replace the water pump whilst in the area as it is more cost efficient to do it then
Hi Simon.....welcome to the Club
Can't say I have any experience with Vinyl spray but I have heard it is great, if applied correctly.
Worth restoring the old girl in my mind.....far fewer on the roads nowadays
Good to have you onboard
Cheers, Trevor
Hi Alan....welcome to the Forum
You could try just a couple of psi extra in each tyre to see if this keeps the sensors happy.
Always ensure that the pressures are checked when they tyres are cold and 2 psi extra won't affect the handling that much.
Let us know what you find
Cheers, Trevor
I think the 270 would be fine if lower gears are used and engine revs are high as this would keep the engine running clean and also should be quite close to the 200 for economy.
Hi Rob....welcome to the Club
Old Peter is probably the best chap to advise on meets in your area as he does sometimes arrange some within the Midlands but generally there are not many others planned as yet.
Feel free to organise something in your area if you wish and we can help to promote it
Cheers, Trevor
Think I would take it in to be diagnosed as this sounds as though it could be a component that is worn or due to go faulty.
Best to be on the safe side!
Hi Nick....welcome to the Club
It really depends on what sort of driving you will mostly be doing...e.g. motorway driving then a diesel is fine, town driving either small diesel or most certainly petrol and hybrid.
Hi Mick....welcome to the Club
Depends on the engine as there have been faults documented with certain engines....worth searching through the XF section of the Forum.
I would always try to get an extended warranty if buying from through a Trade sale....even with a Private sales you can buy a warranty to protect against serious issues.
Overall, the XF is a great model and is relatively trouble-free
Good to have you onboard
It may be worth trying the battery reset procedure but not entirely sure it will resolve the issue.
Have you looked for any damage (not matter how slight) on the screen?
Hi Paul....welcome to the Forum
Has anything damaged the screen recently...something knocked against it possibly?
Cannot seem to find anything on a a search for this specific fault and wonder though
Hi Ged.....welcome to the forums
Just had a look through some seat cover suppliers and cannot find anything for the rear of an XK8.
May have to go to a trimmers and get them to make one up for you.
Good to have you onboard
Cheers, Trevor
Hi Ian
Two things come to mind
Battery voltage: check the battery condition and replace if necessary as this can affect the electronics
Turbo variable vanes sticking: turbo needs some cleaner running through it and an italian tuneup usually cures it
Either way, a scan of the fault code memory should reveal something to go on
