Why Car Analytics Vehicle History Check?
There are three reasons why you should opt for the vehicle history check from Car Analytics (CA).- The CA report is the most comprehensive in the UK market, including every detail the vehicle has experienced in the past.
- The CA vehicle history check is the cheapest of all, available for just £8.95.
- The Car Analytics provides the highest data guarantee (£40,000 compared to £30,000 offered by other providers) and best customer support.
Vehicle History Check vs Vehicle Pre-purchase Inspection, What are the differences?
In simple words, a vehicle history check gives you all the information about the car’s past without revealing its current condition. It includes factors like MOT history, import/export status, outstanding finance details, write-off info, stolen vehicle record, proof of financial disputes, mileage anomalies, ownership history, etc.On the other hand, a vehicle pre-purchase inspection is all about examining its mechanical and physical condition. It comprises the vehicle’s exterior, engine, electric controls, interior & luggage compartment, suspension, transmission, exhaust system, brakes, etc. Know the difference in detail here.

Hi Mark, did you ever find the cause of this fault?
Crank sensor possibly?
-
How did you get on with this issue?
-
There are a few rebuilders listed in directories but best to shop around for prices for rebuild versus rebuilt unit off the shelf
-
Try these guys although cannot say what the quality is like at that price and whether the system will kick it out over time

Hi Brendan
It isn't a bad option to get a stainless system made for your car.
It works out quite reasonable and also much more durable than a standard steel system which will corrode over time.
Additionally, it is lighter in weight and also gives a much crisper sound with possible power increase which can also lead to a marginal improvement in fuel economy

HI Dave....welcome to the Club
Feel free to post up a photo of the S-Type and am interested in what is on the Japanese spec car that isn't on the UK one?
Good to have you onboard!

Hi John....welcome to the Club
Sounds like the boot latch (part that attaches to the lower sill area of the boot where the latch attaches to) is misaligned.
If you can loosen the fasteners and move slightly to see if this makes a difference?

I have read it as 120 months and 105000 miles

Hi Tony....welcome to the Club
It good that you have found us and the wonderful world of Jaguar

Either or really, but I would probably code them first....it only trims then up to the engine but will run to get the engine warm and then code if you want

Hi John
A quick look through the 'tinternet' and come up with this list (which looks to me to be quite definitive)
My money is on item number 3 and can easily be checked by getting your garage to check the oxygen levels from the exhaust (e.g. and exhaust leak will produce a high O2 level on exhaust emissions.....it should be near to zero).
If the exhaust is leaking then this will throw an imbalance on the cat threshold (pre and post levels).
This would indicate a leak in the primary part of the exhaust (more than likely a joint before or after the cat - where the pipes/manifold meet the cats)What repairs can fix the P0420 code?- Replace muffler or repair leaks in the muffler.
- Replace exhaust manifold or repair leaks in the exhaust manifold.
- Replace exhaust pipe or repair exhaust pipe leaks.
- Replace catalytic converter (most common)
- Replace engine coolant temperature sensor.
- Replace front or rear oxygen sensor.

Can recommend The Gearbox Specialist in Bournemouth as used them in the past and good workmanship

Hi
I just joined because I'm planning on becoming a Jaguar owner again, after a seven year gap.
I live in Ferndown but the car I'm looking to buy is a Mk V which will be roughly the same age as me !
It's always good to talk to fellow petrolheads so, if you have a plan for a meeting, I would be pleased to come along.

Hi Chris...you are more than welcome to attend, just need a time and place to meet up now

I've got a 2007 S type Sport (bottled out of the supercharged S type V8 R) and often in the New Forest; happy to tag along
My mate across the road has a 1963 E type (was used in an Italian bat man film !)
You're more than welcome (and your neighbour as well) .... we are soon approaching making a decision on when to meet as there seems to be a fair few on here now.....Anyone got a preference on date and place?
