So true…
-
There is indeed a setting in the menu somewhere
-
On diesels, the service light can come on when the car thinks there is too much diesel dilution in the engine Oil
This could indeed be related to your rp if there is a crack in your intake manifold allowing your car to run too rich
-
I think this valve I mentioned is actually called an actuator - too many weird and wonderful names for an old git like me…
-
There’s a boost control valve that fails on the turbo
this can be replaced fairly easily for about a tenth of the price if you take it to an independent jag man
-
Duff battery…

You’ve got to leave the engine running until it finishes doing it’s thing
it can take a very long time, certainly longer than 15mins
-
The fuel level sender sounds goosed
-
That happens to me often too
always a bummer…
-
I get mine from smith & allen
don’t ask me what my Oil spec is, I only look when I need some - but it is low ash…
have a look at their website
-
Doesn’t matter who makes it
it’s the spec that’s the important bit
-
The solder joints on the sender can go bad
-
There are some code readers that will tell you the state of your dpf and can also force a regen
the cynic in me reckons he’ll tell you that it needs cleaned out…
if the warning light in the dash doesn’t come on, your dpf will be fine

You should go with the specs in the handbook
the specified Oil might be low ash which won’t bung up your dpf as much
-
If it was a tracking issue, you should see excessive wear on the inside or outside of the tyres
-
Too high a pressure and you can lose both cornering and braking ability. Keep the pressures at what the handbook says.
you have a different problem. If they’re all balanced, take them off and check for dents in the rims

Ok
To rule out problems from the tank, you’ll need to put the fuel output from the fuel filter, the hose that goes to the engine, into a bucket of diesel. If the engine keeps running, then you have a problem somewhere from the tank up to the bit you pulled the hose off
-
I would go with the fuel filter first too
-
Get the jag ones
-
Oil spec will be in the handbook
-
Slam vents
find the leak, fix it or the car will die
-
Duff boot harness at the hinge point
-
Hot favourite is broken wires in the harness that runs into the car at the boot hinge
repairable, or replace at reasonable cost by all accounts

I bought some
Just over a tenner per door
Work a treat
Restricted performance when accelerating - intermittent (back again)

Delete the fault codes and go for a run in the car
Some of these codes might be old, historical codes
When you’re finished your jaunt, read the codes again to see what’s still there
