If the car locks and unlocks with the key, and the lights come on for ignition, this may determine that the transponder in the key is faulty if the engine does not turn over. Maybe worth phoning an auto locksmith to get advice?

2009 Jaguar XF cigarette lighter won’t work I can’t find the fuse location
Very good point, personally I have never used one to light a cigar, but did use them for cigarettes when I was a smoker in my younger years. I think the youth of today look a them and just think `phone charger`

2009 Jaguar XF cigarette lighter won’t work I can’t find the fuse location
Curious, does anybody use the cigarette lighter these days to actually light a cigarette? Or is it just to charge phones!?? 😁

Is the engine turning over when you try to start or just nothing at all? Are the ignition lights all coming on?

Hi Steve, and welcome to the group. I also purchased a 2010 XF 3.0 V6 about 2 years ago. To be honest, I don't think the problems are any different to that of any other car manufacturer. However, I have replaced the cam belt, rear suspension arm, crossover valve, 4 new tyres, alternator pully and soon to have pads and discs all round to name but a few issues. These do add up over the years!! ££££££££

blank key
Yes you do. The key blade will open the doors, but you cant start the engine without a transponder being coded.
