  1. Thanks, I know its not the tyres as said, I have moved them around. I guess the drive shaft could be a good place to start. Don't have the tools but this gives me something to go to the mechanic with!
  2. Thanks mate. I have tried the braking thing and it doesn't help so I can only assess that its not brake dust. I did think about a caliper, but would that make the car limp as described?
  3. About a year ago, I took the car to the garage as I had quite a bad vibration from the rear when I was braking. It was quite bad on motorways and higher speeds. Garage recommended I replaced pads and discs. So I ended up replacing them all round. Problem seemed to stop however, at lower speeds, such as when I am slowing to a stop at traffic lights, it feels as if there is limp from the rear offside wheel, as if it is oval shaped. I have swapped the wheels and the limp is still there so I know it is not a tyre or wheel issue, and now the juddering has returned when braking. I have jacked up the car and spun the wheels and cannot hear any bearing issues. I am going to have to take her back to the garage but I feel a bit fobbed off by them by stating that the pads and discs were the issue, when it appears they weren't. Anyone had this issue before? Any ideas what it could be?
  4. This happened to me about 5 months ago. The unit is on its way out. I managed to get a second hand one fitted for £100.
  5. No idea mate. Plug it in and see how it goes!
  6. I think you will end up regretting it if you don't get the XFR. Go for it!!!
  7. If you only got the car a month ago, I would be straight back to the dealer with the problem. If it was a private sale, its probably worth asking if the problem is legacy and also looking the the actual sensors. very odd for all 4 to go though. Do you have a code reader?
  8. Mine is doing the sae thing and I have been informed by my local garage that the compressor needs replacing at a cost of £980. So I am driving around with the windows open now.
  9. I have a 3.0 V6 and I had the rubber cam belt changed last year. No chain anywhere.
  10. If you have only just had this delivered, Id get straight back to the dealer with it.
  11. Yes, even being a smoker back then I never wanted to buy a car that stank of smoke!!!!!
  12. Just buy it. I got one nearly 2 years ago and although I have spent a bit keeping it running, it was well worth the driving experience!!!
  13. Welcome aboard Frank. Lots of useful knowledge on here. Enjoy.
  14. Do you have a code reader? If so, this should be able to clear the fault, unless the pad sensor was damaged when being replaced?
  15. I brought a 2010 3.0 V6 back in 2021. since then: Fan pulley replaced Rear suspension arm replaced 4 new tyres (standard really) front and rear pads and discs (again standard) Cam belt with water pump Door lock issues Bluetooth issues Parking sensor issues Cross over valve replaced and the general servicing. It does sound a lot, and to be fair, this has cost me a small fortune, but the car should continue for a good few years now and I have had no issues since these were resolved (touch wood)
  16. Common faults usually relate to battery issues. i luckily cover about 60 miles a day on the motorway so my battery stays topped up. But of you don't drive too often then you may need to top up your battery weekly/monthly to ensure the electrics operate smoothly.
  17. Welcome to the group Gwilym
  18. If the car locks and unlocks with the key, and the lights come on for ignition, this may determine that the transponder in the key is faulty if the engine does not turn over. Maybe worth phoning an auto locksmith to get advice?
  19. Very good point, personally I have never used one to light a cigar, but did use them for cigarettes when I was a smoker in my younger years. I think the youth of today look a them and just think `phone charger`
  20. Curious, does anybody use the cigarette lighter these days to actually light a cigarette? Or is it just to charge phones!?? 😁
