  1. Wow, if that's the case, I would take the car straight back to the dealer and get them to sort the issues. You certainly shouldn't be paying for anything excessive after only a month.
  2. Absolutely the right thing!! Welcome to the group.
  3. Welcome aboard, I have a silver variant of the XF and like yourself, I absolutely love driving it.
  4. Welcome Brian, I am in Burnham, so not far from you. Welcome to the group.
  5. I have just purchased the CTEK 7, and will be delivered next week. Recently I have found that, when I take the long trip from Windsor to Devon to see the children, or the 50 minute drive to get to work, everything on the car works fine. Doors lock correctly, camera is fine, warning lights are gone. I can only assess that due to the distance I am driving, the battery is getting sufficient charge, and therefore I have invested in the CTEK 7. I will update all on whether this has a positive effect.
  6. I had new front tyres fitted in January. 255/35/R20 97W at national tyres. I now need new rear tyres. Upon shopping around I notice that Halfords believe that my car should have different sized rear tyres to the front - 295/30/R20 No other tyre garage appears to think like this and I must admit, I have never heard of the requirement to vary the tyre sizes front to rear unless the were exceptions such as towing a caravan, of which I have none of. Is this actually a thing or are Halfords trying to pull some wool. If they are, why? As the 2 sets of tyres are the same price
  7. I believe the recommendation is between 105000 and 112000 miles. I know mine is due soon. Personally, I would rather Jaguar did mine for peace of mind, however, I have a back street garage close by who specialises in Jaguar, so I may give them a try as opposed to the dealer. Its a pricey job, especially for a V6!!!
  8. Welcome to the group. Well done on your work, it looks great.
  9. I feel your pain. I have a 2010 XF and have much the same problem. Sometimes it doesn't lock at all. Then it will lock but no worldwide lock. Then it wont open. Then world wide lock works. Then it wont open again. Then it opens and wont lock again and repeat...... I am pulling my hair out aswell (what little I have left)
  10. Welcome to the group Alan, I am sure you will find plenty of useful assistance on here.
  11. Thank you for your comments and concerns. I totally agree with you on condition, hence why I will not offer much more. I do however relish the challenge of a car like this condition, and spending a fair amount of time refurbishing. The works are not a great problem for me as I would enjoy doing this with my son, my only concern is how much I will part with before hand.
  12. Welcome Wilma. I would love an XK8 myself, and am hoping to invest in one soon!!
  13. Did it, I knocked on the door. The guy barely spoke English. After a bit of deliberating I managed to get the message across and offered him a grand. He though about it and said no. Its difficult to have a negotiable conversation with him unfortunately, but may go back in a few days and try a bit more.
