  1. Hi Nicolas, and welcome to the club.

Russ is quite correct.  I have a 2007 S type and the headlamps are different from the pre 2004.

Would reccomend that you keep the headlamps you have and get the bulbs suitable for the EU.  They will fit and will not be that expensive.

I did that some years ago with an Austin.

    Regards,

    Peter.

  2. Hi Steve, and welcome to the club.

I too know Wolverhampton very well, having worked in many of the Steel Works in the City.  I also was a friend of the late Denis Turner from Bilston [ Lord Turner of Biltson].

I had an X type 2.5 AWD which was stolen  —  the three thieves were allowed by Her Royal Highness to serve 8 years in one of her free institutions.

The X type that you have was a very popular car in the USA, particularly useful in the winter.

    Enjoy.

    Peter,

  3. Welcome to the club, Ian.

I take it that AGR valve is the EGR valve.  I had the same when I first got my s type [2013 years ago].

My s type has a two EGR valves and early on I found that when the engine light came on a did give  the V6 engine a bit of a blast.  I soon found out that a better way of curing the Sticking EGR valves was to use premium diesel and every other fill up the introduction of an additive [Millers Oil Diesel Power ECO Max] which only costs about £12 for about 6 months usage.  It has never failed me!

    Regards,

    Peter.

  4. Last week my key fob ran out of power and I had to use it manually.   This did annoy be somewhat as I had to change the battery in the key fob-  I did this myself about 5 months ago, spending a whole £1  in Poundland for two Batteries and one has failed —  So much for Kodak.

Duracell cost about £5 for two batteries and give a longer life - over two years.  I found a company on eBay called  Buy a Battery where I ordered a Duracell a 2 pack for £1.24 0n the 21st July which arrived  on the 22nd July at a total cost of £2.98.  I will buy batteries there now  —  BuyaBattery -Unit 8 Southgate Industrial Park, Heywood, Lancs — or BuyaBattery.co.uk.
