Hi Martin, The Boundaries of County Durham can't be moved. I think it was Henry 1V who awarded the County as a County Palatine and the Boundaries then cannot be altered. There are two other County Palatines, Cheshire and Lancashire. The Earl of Cheshire and Lancashire plus the Bishop of Durham were on the side of the House of Lancashire against the House of York. I am from Lancashire on which County is Her Royal Highness the Queen, Duke of Lancashire. The first Jaguar was built in Lancashire by Bill Lyons from Blackpool! Regards, Peter.

Welcome to the club, Thomas. George is quite correct. I had my bulbs replaced with some slightly more powerful bulbs by Halfords. My surprise when it went to for the MOT was that they were out of alignment. It would have been a failure if my mobile mechanic had not readjusted them at the garage and then had them checked when it went through the MOT again. National Tyres where I live are quite good. Hi Brian, The leaper is quite legal but has to be properly located and must have be able to leave the car rather than to remain firm in an accident. I have a leaper that was not a springer one but an adhesive one that swivels. Regards, Peter.

Welcome to the club, Kevin. I have had my s type Diesel for 7 years and it has treated me rather well. I find that it is quite fast and quite economic. I have not even thought about remapping. A friend of mine [many years ago] had a remap and managed to blow the engine to scrap when showing off. For that reason, I have found that the performance for my well looked after Jaguar is just as it left the factory. But it is your choice. Some have some have not, Regards, Peter.

Hi Arnas and welcome to the club. I appears to me that you have been in the secret service of a car dealer. My last visit to a main dealer was to check why I had a amber light on my dashboard -- I was not used to Jaguars. It was a long time ago and £67 for a 10 minute job force me to keep my wallet closed when passing Main Dealer. I have had a mobile mechanic for 19 years now and he has never let me down and what I paid £67 for he does for nowt! Just keep enjoying your Jaguar! Regards, Peter.

Welcome to the club, Danny. I have had an S Type 2.7 d for the last 7 years, and like you, are thoroughly enjoying Sir William Lyons' "Grace, Pace and Space". I have only had one minor issue with the XF gearbox and that was when I was using the manual system to slow the engine down on downhill roads. I have had auto gearboxes for 18 years and this is the only issue I have had. I am not an expert in the mechanics of a car, but I do know of a company that is expert on gearboxes. Unfortunately it is in Scotland. I would google around and see if there is someone like that in the South of England. Good Luck, Peter.

Welcome to the Club, John One of my sons has had a Jaguar Diesel Estate for over 3 years. His car has the 2.0 litre Ford Engine which is a reliable workhorse. The other diesel engine, which is still used by Jaguar is the 2.2 Litre which is a later engine than the 2.0 litre. Both are sound cars and a comfortable drive. Good luck with your search. Hi Pete, I have a £20 diagnostic tool which I have used to get rid of the odd code or two concerning the EGR valves on my s type. When I have had a park brake warning I have disconnected the battery, paused for 10 minutes and then connected the battery again, shut up the warning alarm, and then pressed down footbrake and handbrake at the same time, switched on the radio [you need the code ] and then reset windows and sound. I had also removed the warning light. A nuisance but it has saved me a few shillings. Regards, Peter.
