  1. It can be done William.  Denis and I have done that sort of installation several times before. We can do the lot in half a day, along with loads of other retro-fits.

There are several components, as you surmised, to be bought and the D2B fibre optic network cable needs re-working with the addition of several D2B terminals in the network. The electrical wiring will already be in place, although sometimes well concealed. Have you got a CD changer in the boot? This is a common retro-fit done at the same time as the Voice, bluetooth etc.

If you go ahead, do you intend to retro-fit yourself or will you bring your car to us? Denis (who breaks Jaguars) provides all the parts at considerably less than commercial breakers prices and we do the fitting, including any of the specialist SDD diagnostics that will be required, free of charge.

Alternatively, Denis can provide the parts by post for you to do the installation yourself.

    Any help to you?

  2. Check fuse 3 in the under-bonnet fuse box David.

Easiest way to disable a dodgy FBH :) If it's missing you can replace it. However, it will have been removed for a reason. Most usually because if the burner in the FBH isn't adjusted correctly, it produces masses of white unburnt diesel mist which, as previously mentioned, can be drawn into the cabin if the cabin air intake is not set to recirculating.

  3. From what you've said Jodi, the problem lies with your amplifier.

It is located at the top of the stack in the boot on the left hand side, where the Sat Nav controller is.

If I were you I'd be checking the connectors on the amplifier. You will need to remove the trim panel to inspect properly.

    Where are you located?

  4. Very strange goings on with The Princess today.

Parked, switched off and then a few seconds later re-started to move her slightly. Had all the fails, transmission, park brake cruise, traction, you name it.

Switched off and on again, powerfolds retracted but other than that all ok.

Switched off, went in the house for a minute and came back to find doors all locked with the keys still in the ignition.

Other than that, sweet as a nut :)

Not a battery problem as I put her on trickle charge regularly and a quick battery voltage test produced 12.4 volts off load.

    Spooky.
