  1. Hi All, I have just joined this forum and look forward to reading some of the experiences of owning Jaguars by other members. I have just changed my car, as of yesterday, to a 2014 XF 3.0D S Sportbrake. Prior to this I had an X-Type 2.2D Sovereign Estate on a 59 plate that I had owned for four years. It was a superb example and left me with still only 66k miles on the clock. In the past I have had two other Jaguars, another X-Type 2.2D Estate back in 2009 from new, as a company vehicle. Over the four years that I had this one it racked up about 90000 miles. This was also a lovely car and was the basis for me to look for another low mileage example of my own back in 2017. My other Jag was a 1968 Jaguar 420 that I owned for about 18 months in 1979/80. This too was a very sound car but as a poorly paid student accountant it wasn't the most sensible car to be driving at the time. The maintenance nearly killed me! I guess the driver for me joining this forum is a subject that has probably been flogged well and truly before on this forum, and that is ECO Stop / Start. I am not a great fan myself and my latest acquisition has it and it is working perfectly. However, I would like to stop it and the manual suggests pressing the ECO button to do this. The problem is, my car doesn't seem to have one where the manual suggests it should be, i.e. where the on-off switch is located for the touch-screen display. So, can anyone with a similar vehicle give me a pointer as to how to disengage the Stop / Start, even if I have to do it every time I start the car from scratch?
  2. The only other thing I can suggest is go to Jaguar.co.uk there may be some info there in the guides and handbooks.
  3. Hi Graham, That's a shame, sorry I could not help. I am sure there must be someone in the XF owners section who can offer an answer. Sorry for spelling in my message laptop keyboard playing up. Rgds Julie.
  4. Hello Graham, Welcome to Jaguar Owners Club. It's great place to be able to talk to people who are obsessed as I am with Jaguars, and not get the usual response when i speak enthusiastically about them of glazed eyes and a look of boredom 🤣 I have a x type 2.2 d Sovereign at present. I love it but really want an S type again. I had one before and just love the look of them. The 420 you had must have been a beautiful car to drive and own. I don't know much about the XF , only its a fine looking car, I have found this information re Eco Stop/ Start May be t will help. Best Regards, Julie. How do I turn off the stop start on my Jaguar XF? Jaguar Owner Information. To switch the Intelligent stop/start system off, press the ECO stop/start button. For more information, see DRIVER CONTROLS. To confirm that the system has been switched off, the button LED will extinguish, and the message ECO Stop/Start Off is momentarily displayed in the Message centre
  5. Hi Ciaran, The Garage offered both options I went for a new one as cost difference was only £20. The Garage fitted it for me. Rgds Julie
  6. Hi Ciaran Welcome to Jaguar Owners. I had turbo actuator replaced on my X type in may due to lack of power. I had it done at local garage. I can't offer advise on plug and play sorry but did find the above video on Youtube about cleaning it. Kind Regards, Julie.
  7. Hi Lee, Not an expert but believe most common cause in cars in general -relay or fuse. Kind Rgds, Julie.
  8. Hi George, Welcome to Jaguar Owners Club. Your wife has good taste, XK8 in white - stunning. I do not know much about the XK8 as I have x type, but have read good reviews in the mooring press and from the RAC, The 1997 I have found was given 4.6 out of 5 by owners who said it was reliable, and a pleasure to drive. I am sure one of our XK owners can tell you more. Kind Regards, Julie.
  9. Hi Gary, Firstly welcome to Jaguar Owners Club😃. That's a real pain. You have my sympathy. I had problem with TPMS on my previous Jaguar but replaced sensor and problem solved. Have you manually checked all the tyre pressures? Just in case there is a problem. I would take it back to the place who installed them, may be they were not installed incorrectly? may be the central unit is at fault? I can only pass on what I have read - not being an expert (but keen and trying to learn) Hope you get it sorted Kind Regards, Julie. Tire Change or Rotation was Recently Performed The tire sensors may be in need of a reset if the tire position on the wheel was changed. Depending on the car, this may just mean that you need to drive around for a few minutes so the tire can reset. If this doesn’t work, you may need to request a full calibration at the dealership or tire shop.
  10. Hi Kat, Glad Your enjoying the XF. I have X type 2007 which takes old gas, had that done in May. Not an expert but did check on several sites that all confirm info below I found a reference that Xf 2016 onwards use the new R1234YF.on Warren Garage web site. The Garage you take it to should be able to tell you what you need. Best Rgds Julie. Most cars on the road use the traditional R134A gas. However, all cars manufactured from 2017 onwards use the new gas R1234YF. This new gas produces 98% fewer pollutants than the traditional R134A, however, unfortunately it is significantly more expensive than R134A. The gas is not interchangeable,.
  11. Hi Stewart, Welcome to Jaguar Owners. I do not have an XJ but go to this site below and input your model year. I know it tells you how to do this for XF under instrument panel / trip units. Kind Regards, Julie. https://www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com/model/2D/2017/document/22912_en_GBR
