  1. Hi Matthew, Welcome to Jaguar Owners Club. X type, nice car to drive, and comfortable Check for rust on sills. Door latches / central locking connection to key fob can have problems, mine did but was easily solved. The later models more reliable in general. Kind Regards, Julie.
  2. Hi Andy, Welcome to jaguar Owners Club. When my X type had problem it was water in key fobs Here are common faults for most cars The key fob battery is dead: This is one of the most common reasons why your car door lock is not working. If your locks aren’t working, replacing the battery in the key fob could solve the issue. But I know you have checked this The key fob is faulty: If the battery isn’t the problem, the issue may be with the fob itself. If you go to your car dealer, they can hook the fob up to a computer and make sure that the programming is still good. If it’s not sending a signal, the fob will likely have to be replaced. A fuse is blown: If one door doesn’t work, but others do, the problem could be a blown fuse. Replacing the fuse will correct the problem. This is a cheap and easy fix. The solenoid is bad: Again, if one door doesn’t work, but others do, the problem could be with the door lock solenoid. Replacing it may require removing the car door panel. You have a broken wire: If the lock isn’t getting power, hold the lock switch either up or down, and then open and close the door repeatedly to see if the lock will work. If it works sometimes, you probably have a broken wire. Please feel free to post pictures of your pride and joy. We love to see other peoples cars😃 Hope you get it sorted soon. Kind Regards, Julie.

  5. Hi, My new Jaguar S type is an import. Built here and exported to Japan. It's in a lovely condition it's a 2005. The Speedometer is in KPH, not a problem really I just have to to convert in my head when I am driving. The Imported did kindly put little white dot stickers on the appropriate places for 30 mph etc but I found it annoying, it looked odd. The sat nav talks in Japanese but I do not use one, I like maps. Handbook is in Japanese. I was having problems getting one, none available from Jaguar, thought I was going to have to learn Japanese but have just found one on eBay. But overall a very well cared for car. I had looked a quite a few cars locally and was disappointed at their condition. I need another key so ordered one. I have reprogrammed them in the past for X type. Has anyone reprogrammed them for the S type please? Kind Regards, Julie.
  6. Hi,

    Can you help please.

Had another complain re Halford's cards.

Member was told by Halfords you have to use an app to get discount.

As far as I know this is incorrect.

I advised the member that new cards with bar codes had been sent out.

That Halfords did accept cards but he replied-

    "Thanks.

That was exactly what I said to them, but 3members of staff said that the cards were not used any more."

    Please can you advise me.

    Kind Regards,

    Julie.

      Hi Julie

That sounds odd, will have to contact Halfords tomorrow to see if there has been another change in policy but otherwise it will be a new card being issued to the member.

Thanks for liaising with the member, will contact him directly later on.

      Best Regards,  Trevor
