  1. well ive just fitted a led light in the boot of my x type.! reason being as the boot lamp is (well crap) not very illuminating. so here it is ON in the boot, but it is day time, so when it gets dark im out there again to see how it lights up the boot area? pics will be posted to see how it looks! watch this space.

  3. Located above the message center are two lamps, red for warning and amber for caution. When a message is displayed, the appropriate lamp will illuminate to attract the driver's attention and to signify the importance of the message. this is all i can find on this issue. put if this light does stay on it needs to be addressed as there ls a problem in the electrical system.
  4. have you locked/unlock the doors manually ? and seen what happens? then try as you have with the key remote, it may be the key transmitter? or bad earth causing a short? or door latch actuator which sits inside drivers door/check harness wires and connectors, or even link up to the (GEM) generic electronics module. things for you to try if you a DIY.
  5. the reverse senors have a clip which you have to unplug, this is easy to do.... when done put your meter on the pins of the plug to test for power going to the each sensor. this will show if you have a break in the cable. that is when you have another module replaced,(if needed) as you stated that it was corroded! if power then you know that the sensor is faulty.

EGR valve.... if you look at mine in my profile, you can see how bad the carbon build up is! but then after a good clean :-) but also if you noticed in the picture there is a metal rod which has a plunger on it you must check that this goes up under suction and stays up!!! this is all linked up to the turbo unit that regulates the operation of the EGR valve, along with the emissions too.
  9. hi aron, on reading your first post,you said the car went into limp mode? and not rev above 3000rpm. may i suggest that you try this.... connect everything back up, and if possible start car! now if you hear a buzzing sound see if its coming from the top of the turbo. as you did state that there was a buzzing before. now what you need to do is look and see if you have an eletronic turbo actuator. this is an arm that comes from the turbo to the actuator and moves as you rev, look to see if the arm moves from the actuator. if not this may be you problem, hope this helps.

  11. ok.....so how many of you when you`ve reached the end of your journey just turn the ignition off ? (but) then how many you of wait for the engine to settle and idle for a short while? i bet a good many of you jaguar owners know the the answer to this one,
  12. hi david` how i you getting on with the issue of the overheating problem? and have you now got it sorted! as we have not had any updates on this problem.
  13. steve how bad were your sills? did you have to treat them first with an anti rust ! or did you just paint the aquasteel on? but by reading your post that you`ve placed it sounds like your well happy with the aquasteel paint... nice one.. :-)
  14. (this is for a diesel engine.) The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor is located at the rear of the engine mounted to the cylinder block. It is used to detect the engine position and speed of the crankshaft. It is a permanent inductive type sensor. Should the CKP sensor fail, the engine will not start. just another thing to try? again good luck...
  15. The transmission gear changes, oil pressure and lock-up operation are all electronically controlled. The TCM receives electrical signals from sensors indicating vehicle speed and throttle opening. In response to these signals the TCM selects the appropriate gear and regulates other related conditions. Actual transmission control changes are made by actuators (solenoids) that respond to input signals received from the TCM. These solenoids operate in response to electrical signals they regulate the control valve operation. The control valves cause changes in the fluid flow passages. This results in pressure changes within the transmission. if possible link up to the TCM as this may give you the result your looking for, but you need the correct software in which to do this! best of luck on this issue.
  16. with the covers off both my sills i then rubbed down to the metal, as you seen, then covered in anti rust treatment, then with silver hamerite paint x2 coats,.. then with my builders rubberiod liquid paint to protect from the elements.( dam good stuff. ) but where the holes are in the body of the sills spray them with an anti corrosive to which you think best to use. many good ones on ebay.
