  1. Hi Gary, Sorry to hear that you're moving on. What are you thinking of getting next? Just out of interest where is the rust showing through? Cheers Mark
  2. Hi Peter, Yes I realise that and I also use v power. I only have the need for one car and use it for all events including going to work in the daily slow moving crawl. In this stop start situation I get about 7-11 mph with no grinning or smiling what so ever......😈 . On the up side it does make me look forward to the weekend trips more. I used to use millers max but stopped when i switched to v power my thinking was the v power was enough. What are your thoughts? Cheers Mark
  3. I must be doing something different, I don't get anywhere near those figures in my 2.7d . Think the position of my right foot is directly proportional to the width of my grin..ha Smiles per miles are in abundance...😆
  4. Hi Steve. Sorry to hear you've suffered the actions of a scrout. The clips you mentioned are part of the motor housing...... any of these in the link a help. link Cheers Mark
  5. Hi Carole, Yes, ask for the tyre to be returned and say that you've been in touch with Michelin and they are keen to analyse the tyre.....😆
  6. Hi Tom, Nice xf, nice s type as well. How are you finding the 3.0 compared to the 2.5 engine?
  7. Hi Wayne, In 2012 Jaguar changed the oil spec from WSS-M2C-913-B to WSS-M2C-934-B (ie an ACEA C1 low ash oil) for the 2.7 Diesel with DPF. Castrol EDGE Professional C1 5W-30 Shell Helix Diesel Ultra AF-L 5W-30 Mobil Super 3000 Formula C1 5W-30 Millers Oils XF Longlife C1 5W-30 etc etc I've spoken about this with 2 main dealers and an indy and all have recommended a C1 low ash oil for DPF cars. Back in the day C1 oils were scarce but now more common Jag changed their recommendations. Apparently though some Jag documents haven't caught up with the spec change yet....!!
  8. Nice clean calipers Dave well done👍. I've got to do mine at some point.....on my "to do list"
  9. Yes, keep it and give it your kid when he/she turns 17. It'll be really retro by then! Mark
  10. I was only messing with you Peter. Your car certainly look tidy, but as for price I'd take a wild guess and say tripple what you paid. But as Joe said, have a snoop around and see what the market is asking. Autotrader Cheers Mark
  11. Thanks Martyn, I'm not looking to replace mine yet, but always good know who is selling what and where... Here's hoping you change yours out without to many issues. Mark
  12. Hi Martyn, Could you please pop a link up to where you bought your EGR valves? Cheers Mark
  13. Hi Carole, Mmmm bit expensive that new nose cone..fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse any time soon. Must admit your carcoon sounds like a very useful piece of kit, and yep, keeping cars outside is certainly a challenge but I do enjoy fussing over my cars.
  14. Hi Carole, Well that quote seems very good, I was thinking it would be a lot more. As for BMW drivers, dont get me started ...ha. Out of interest what do you do when you want to cocoon the jag when it has been out all day and when you return home it's raining and the car is dirty? Cheers Mark
  15. Welcome!!!! I never tire of looking at shiny jags....nice car Lee.
  16. Hi Carole, I'm in Derby and use MGA Jaguar, only used them a couple of times and I've got no complaints, other than they wouldn't replace old bushes in suspension parts with new ones id bought. Perhaps I will try Elite next time. As for the wax products I mentioned, they can be bought here , here on ebay and at loads of other online car detailing sites, just Google car wax. Bouncer's Done and Dusted quick detailer is also very good and won a test amongst very good company, see part 1 and part 2 (he goes on a bit but loves quick detailers👍). Good to hear you feel happier ref your nose cone issues, but I will stand by buy new to "completely rectify" 😆 Can I be cheeky and ask how much you were quoted? No worries if you don't want to. Cheers Mark
  17. Hi Carole, Sounds as though you like and are getting on well with Meguire products. They certainly seem to last you a fair while for sure. I've never used them, tend to buy British detailing products if I can 😜 ha. My problem is buying too many products, I've got a cloth, bottle, tin or tube for every conceivable application! (and some cotton buds..... ). My car is kept outside all year and its a never ending battle to keep it looking shiny!!!! . I was using Bilt Hamber double speed wax over the winter and I'm just about to strip it off and apply Bouncer's Check the Fleck for the Summer months. It doesn't last as long as the BH but it makes metallic paint really pop. Keep smiling whilst driving 😊 Cheers Mark
  18. Hi Emma, Is this the part you're looking for, SNG_CATX.pdf Page 88 4. Fog Lamp Bracket. From VIN J39906. Part number C2S49808 Available here, here and here if it isn't the correct part I'm lost....😔 ha
  19. Hi Carole, Out of interest which wax did you choose and how is it performing ? Mark
  20. Hi Carole, As Joe said, your car sure looks good, I also like your front door😆. I know what you mean when you say "you know it's there" really anoying isn't it. In my opinion, the only way to completely rectify the damage/repair on a bumper/nose cone, is to replace the damaged item with a new one, repaint and bolt it on, anything else will last a few years as the first repair has until it statrs to show through again. Cheers Mark
  21. Hi Simon Great write up, thanks for posting. You can start munching through your Easter eggs now the car's sorted..ha Cheers Mark
  22. Main dealer got back to me and confirmed the £375, car is booked in for next week.
  23. Hi Joe, Yeah, that's what I expected the main dealer to say, £375. I even mentioned it to them, but I'm still waiting! Think at that price I'll get it done as you say could prevent a big bill. Cheers Mark
  24. Hi All, Well my 2007 S Type 2.7 td has only 52k miles on it but is 10 years old this month, so needs a new Cam belt, or so I thought? The first Indie I called said that a main dealer can do the job cheaper than them, (£480+vat) very honest I thought. Called the main dealer and I'm still waiting for a call back with a price! Waited all day. In the mean time I called another Indie, they said with such low mileage they recommended not changing the belt for at least another 2/3 years!!!!?? as they're made from "tank tracks" . Has anyone got any views on this? Their price was £580 +vat for belt and tensioners. Cheers Mark
