  2. Isn't there a function in the Touchscreen that allows you to have the rear view camera on without reverse being selected? There is on other JLR branded vehicles. I would be reluctant to dive into changing the actual camera, when nothing is hard and fast about the fault and my thinking would still be on the wiring where it transfers from the body to the boot lid, which is a known weak point. If you can bring up the camera through the Touchscreen and drive with it on the display for a few miles, you may see if it glitches out - or not. With the camera on the display and the vehicle stationary, try opening and closing the boot lid several times whilst someone watches the display. This may confirm the boot lid wiring one way or other. N6 JMX
  3. I have also been considering some nice braided ones, (like my XJRR has). After 5 years XF ones are already looking rusty. Don't want to be changing them every 5 years!
  4. As shown in the video, no specialist tools required to change the sensors. You can always disconnect the battery to be completely safe.

  6. Hi Karol Only suggestion I can make is have you thought it might just be due to having 20" wheels? I know you have tried 18" but those were with winter tyres. I have 19" wheels on my 2013 Sportbrake and recently went to Northern Ireland in it, with brand new Bridgestone Turanza 6 all seasons all round. I had to stop twice and check I didn't have a puncture as the road surface locally was clearly different to those in NW England and I felt I could feel every imperfection in the road 😞 I am sure the narrower side-walls on 20" wheels would only have exacerbated the issue. Is there anyway you could try a set of 18" wheels with decent summer tyres? Also could you clarify the problem? Feeling bumps: do you mean through the body - Front / back / steering? Any accomanying noises? Also I would understand wobble as a clear side to side shake, is that what you mean? Can you reliably repeat the issue by repeating a journey over a section of road at the same speed? Good Luck John
  7. Thanks Jim, forgot about the Halfords colour match system, I have found a local specialist who would refurbish the wheels, just about to find out how much he charges, he comes highly recommended and would also do the wheels at your home if needed. Many thanks again for your advice.
  8. Check out the Furniture Clinic, who seem to have a fix for just about everything. https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/wood-care-products/wood-repair-products N6 JMX

  10. I have a small crack in the wood trim on the driver's door (under the M in Meridian). I think it's the plastic covering. How do I fill in the crack and keep it from spreading?
  11. Hi Dave, thank you for being good enough to take time to take and send these pics. After the weekend settling of the overheating event I have decided to purchase a new top hose and heater control valve and have them fitted. I shall be putting forward to my guardian angel a compression test done and also a cooling system pressure test. Also if possible flow test the rad as well. I think this is the best way forward for now. I've also bought a new radiator expansion tank cap. Thanks again for all you help, regards, Tony.
  12. Hi "You can connect direct to the battery terminals" Just a slight correction to above. My understanding is that you should NOT connect directly to the -ve earth terminal on the battery itself, but to a good body earth point. I use the spare wheel mount. The Battery Monitoring Module sits on the -ve battery connector and so if the charge current by-passes it rather than flowing through it gets confused as too how much charge the battery has 🙂 Jim is spot on saying you will need an AGM compatible charger. I use the CT5 START/STOP and have a CTek extension which runs into the boot above all of the floor covers so I can just "plug and play". IMHO it is worth doing a regular top-up charge as these are VERY battery hungry cars. John

  16. Aftermarket maybe? Don't think my 2001 has such a thing.
  17. Hi I'm looking to do CCF edits. Any recomendation on what and where to buy? Thanks
  18. Good question. I've used an Autel AP200 white so far. Annoyingly it doesn't list the 2.0 petrol engine, but when I select diesel most things seam to work. I would like one to change configuration options (CCF file)
  19. Thanks for the Picture Simon. Mine came without a wheel chock. I happen to have a LR one that looked the same but couldn't get it to fit, until I saw your picture with the chock sticking out of the foam. I see from ebay that an after market company are selling spare wheel kits these days. Called RoadHero
  20. Hi John, I’ll let you know how I get on. Thanks again for your interest. Alastair.
  21. I have exactly the same problem with both my front windows my 2008 XJ Sovereign. Did you manage to resolve it? I’ve only recently purchased mine and will be looking into it.
  22. Hi, I have recently purchased a 2008 XJ Sovereign 2.7 and I have a problem with both front electric windows. The rear windows work perfectly. They front windows will only move up or down in short increments. One press to go down two or three inches at a time. But when they go up I have to click at least 8 times for them to move two or three inches. Can anyone tell me how to fix this please?
  23. Hi , I have the same issue with my 07 2.7tdvi , any luck with solving the problem ? I've spent plenty on mine too and it's very frustrating !
  24. I had the timing chains/tensioners/guides replaced and new Lifetime Bilstein Shock Absorbers installed.
  25. Thank you, I’ll check this evening
