  2. The X260 XF diesel (2015 on) uses either the 2.0 ingenium engine or the 3.0 V6, whereas the earlier X250 model (up to 2015) uses either the 2.2 or 3.0 V6 diesel engine. The 2.0 ingenium engine doesn't have a brilliant reputation for reliability unfortunately. General opinion is that the X260 also had lower quality interior materials, until the final facelift in late 2019, when it got the interior upgrade that it deserved. Personally, I would look for one of the last X250 3.0 V6 S Portfolio models, very well specced and great interior quality.

  4. I got jaguar s type 1999 it got broken into had auto electrician out couldn't get into pats and ecu cost me 80 been told I need jlr 131 and cable had looking at 100pound is there way cheaper I can it with car read
  5. Hi Jon, Thank you for your prompt reply. I’ve always been a Jag lover but never been able to afford one. Back in the mid 70s I was offered a MkII 2.4. The engine had been completely overhauled, the interior leather had been repaired to a very high standard and my boss looked after it better than a mother and baby like when it rained he was out with a chamois leather and services never missed. When he was offered a new job and company car he offered me 1st refusal to buy as I looked after mine, being a spanner man, But alas I just didn’t have the money to buy. The biggest regret of my life and bought a load of trash a Cortina estate I spent a fortune on for a complete waste. Since it’s been my dream to own on. MK II out of my league 😢 hence XF came into view I know nothing about but trying to convince my wife it’ll be something we won’t regret hence I have to get this right. please understand my long text as I have to have all in front of me to convince her indoors she won’t regret. 😆👍🏽 My colour choice Red or Black. All whistle and bells. Easy for us to get in and out, again age thing. But provenance on the drive is a must, but for me it’s comfort, back and knee troubles and that’s for both of us. However owning a Jag is pride of place but making sure I don’t buy a pup and distance driving is cool. Again apologies for all who read.. 2.2 or 3.0L diesel. Tax, fuel, performance, comfort or/and problems, problems, problems. i know what many will think here…What a Whalley but I don’t care as long as I get the best Jag and only Jag that’s right. Nothing or no other manufacture will do as long as can convince. So definite Auto 2.2, 2.0 or 3.0L Diesel. 2015 - 2016. High mileage if service history to keep cost down? Does 2nd gen worth making that much difference for the price? Are you all still awake 💤 . Thank you, I don’t mind you all laughing. 👍🏽 Roy the Pest, Genuine!
  6. My carpentry skills are non existent! (I mean, I could get a splinter! Or even worse, break a nail! 😱😂) I guess I’ll just have to see if I can find someone that would be willing to take on the challenge, but thank you for your reply ✌🏻🙂
  7. Hi Roy, Well,I’m 69 and now on my second XF. First was an X250 3.0S portfolio (2011). Current one is an X260 3.0 S, loaded with options. To choose between the two is a bit like choosing between your children! First had a better, but dated interior compared to 5e current one. But the current one is loaded with toys and is much, much more fun to drive. Haven’t tried a non sport version of either, so sorry, can’t comment on whether they’re worth it, but if you want performance and handling but with a supple ride, neither will disappoint. so…. What colour are you going to choose??? Good hunting, and enjoy! cheers, Jon
  8. As i'm no good at carpentry, i used a bit of 2x1" batten cut to length, drilled a couple of holes and called it good. However if you happen to know someone who is better at carpentry than me (that's almost anyone by the way!) you could maybe persuade them to get you a nice bit of mahogany or similar and chamfer the edges with a router (think that's the tool needed), drill and rebate the mounting holes, lacquer it and then mount the Leaper on it. If tht same person is good with plastic/perspex, they could make you a lid to keep the dust off as well..........
  9. Hello. Checking a warning light, I found the pressure sensor connector at the top front of the engine , just under the cover, was loose. I tried to clip it back on but the locking tab had snapped off. At the moment I'm using cable ties to hold it on. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? The places I've tried want me to buy a complete loom.
  10. Have you tried lowering the door seal a little? Or used some rubber conditioner to help flex up the seal?
  11. I saw it on that site but all the indicators suggest it could well be a scammers site. Thank you for looking 😊
  12. I’ve always been a jag admirer but I’m not a Jag owner, yet. I’m now into looking at the XF. Questions 1: Is it worth paying the extra for a a 2nd Gen (I believe 2015 - 2: If so, I have to have an auto and prefer diesel so what is the preferred engines and most reliable and economical? 3: Is the Sport model a better advantage? 4: Any pitfalls I need to be wary of? Thank you for any advice as this is a genuine enquiry into my very late (nearly 79) in life dream.
  13. After much ado I’ve finally got my phone reliably connected to my xk 4.2 2006 amplifier. Had a wired fm modulator( see photo) fitted by a professional for £50, it has an Independent power supply to it hard wired in. When it was done it had loads of interference, contacted the supplier and told to fit a ground loop noise isolator ?? Thought he was just fobbing me off but £4.00 later I bought and fitted one from eBay. All fitted and works perfectly. All now hidden behind the radio including another power supply run from an outlet in the glove box to an adaptor to allow phone charging at the same time. All I have is one lead coming out of the dash to my phone. This car is also fitted with an electric aerial so I’ve pulled the fuse to that and it stays down now All round a success story. A damned rare thing these days !
  14. Hi all, Does anyone know where I can buy a display case or plinth to mount our leaping cat hood ornament? Sadly the car has been written off but as it was my late dads pride and joy I’d like to mount the ornament for my mum. Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Jen
  15. This is the only place I found, if you’re willing to take a chance. https://gotosale.ru/product/326369601141
  16. eBay don’t have any so I will try some breakers yards but it was worth asking. Thank you for your reply
  17. Thanks Jim, yes exactly the same fault for me, I will do a similar repair until I can find a replacement hose, I have had this hose off before and it appears fine, I wonder if the spout on the tank softens with the heat and time and is compressed by the clamp? allowing the connection to fail and leak? Such a small issue that would cause a major problem. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again for your help Regards Steve H
  18. From a quick bit of research, everywhere seems to be sold out and no intention of restocking, suggesting it's now NLA so i'd suggest a breakers yard or perhaps ebay for a NOS seal.

  20. I have a 2005 S-Type and I need the drivers door aperture seal part number XR853720 but I’m struggling to find one.
  21. This guy has exactly the same problem. Part number is C2P2186. Good luck with your search. Perhaps Eurojag maybe able to help.
  22. You will need to determine the part number and the link below should allow you to do that. Xk 2006 - 2014 (from B00379) (x150) / Radiator Hoses-v8-4.2 Litre-supercharged (4.2 Litre Supercharged) | Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts N6 JMX
  23. Thanks for the info. I am starting wonder if this is the case. Though by only pressing the fob once I do notice that the red led starts to flash, so some alarm is set. Is there way to find out what alarm system is on the car, as manual seems to suggest that the movement sensor may be" an option" I will buy jumps leads.........belt n braces
  24. Well let's see if I can stick a pic on the site
