Hello Everyone, I have just joined the club after buying a X type Jag.

It's quite an old Jag (2003)but in super condition with 43000 miles on the clock.

I am an old wrinkly so I thought I would have the pleasure of a great car

while I am still able to drive it.

Welcome to the club, i'm sure you will find all the answers you want on here . There are plenty of members from your neck of the woods (up T' North) on here, but they are quite tame.

 

As Charlie said , 43000 isn't even run in yet, so you should have plenty of trouble free enjoyment .

 

As for the "Old wrinkly " bit , Peter and I are the oldies around here , but you are welcome to join the "Grumpy old gits" club if you wish .

Same colour as mine then Ernest to include the cream leather interior with the exception I have a XKR. Happy to see you are seeing the jovial side of the forum

My retirement is also going well apart from i've been told my pension is to be means tested .

I have been working in Herefordshire and Shropshire of late with a daily commute whereupon the farmers have been harvesting. Can you please send some Somerset Farmers up there to show them how to pull over in tractors because believe me, it don't fecki*g happen. Apologies in advance

Hi All

At least tractors don't travel 2 or more abreast in narrow roads. Coming down to Devon again in the spring Trevor so will arrange to meet up, I'm trying to do a bit of genealogy as my family all came from around the Exeter and North Devon area.

Tractors are great to drive.  When I was gainfully employed as a farm labourer, I had to take a tractor from Fiddlers Ferry to Haydock, a journey of about 10 miles, with my bike tied on to the back so I could get back. Top speed about 8 mph.  I had to go via Warrington and up a small road just wide enough where I was stopped by the police for having no exhaust.  The exhaust on this venerable tractor did exist, but it was rather noisy, especially when I took it off.

 

The policeman cleared the road and got me out of the traffic holdup very quickly, and he never even asked me for my licence, which was a good thing as I didn't have one.

 

A tractor gives you the aura of power, which is not dissimilar to driving a Jaguar.
