Hello Everyone, I have just joined the club after buying a X type Jag.

It's quite an old Jag (2003)but in super condition with 43000 miles on the clock.

I am an old wrinkly so I thought I would have the pleasure of a great car

while I am still able to drive it.

Regards

              ernst33.

hi ernest welcome to the club mate, 43000 is nowt its still running in. had a good look at an xtype on a jag day not long ago and was impressed with the quality of the inside. hope you enjoy yours . what is the coulor combo of it charlie

Earnest,

Welcome to the club, i'm sure you will find all the answers you want on here . There are plenty of members from your neck of the woods (up T' North) on here, but they are quite tame.

As Charlie said , 43000 isn't even run in yet, so you should have plenty of trouble free enjoyment .

As for the "Old wrinkly " bit , Peter and I are the oldies around here , but you are welcome to join the "Grumpy old gits" club if you wish .

ATB,

Trevor

Hi Trevor, "Gumpy old Git's" club sounds right up my street but as

Ernest.

Croeso, Ernest, got to include a little Welsh to wind up all you Lloega's. Welcome to the club we all have questions to ask so please don't be afraid to ask

Hi Ernest, and welcome to the club.

I'm new to Jags too, having bought a diesel X-Type a couple of months ago as a daily for my commute. Love it.

Now then Trevor, Ernest is in Staffs, so how is that "up T'North"??? Calling Staffs northerly is like saying where I live is north of the Arctic Circle!!

Welcome to the club Ernest I'm sure you'll find the club a great place to be. Not as good as sitting in your Jag of course. I haven't been around for a while as I've been driving around the West country enjoying my retirement.

Regards to all

Glyn

(Still hate cyclists)

Glyn,

Why didn't you pop in to Ilfracombe and see me? we could have hated cyclists together !

My retirement is also going well apart from i've been told my pension is to be means tested .

ATB,

And Tractors

Ken,

Of course, we take that as read down here , and caravans, but at least tractors will pull over to let you pass .

I have been working in Herefordshire and Shropshire of late with a daily commute whereupon the farmers have been harvesting. Can you please send some Somerset Farmers up there to show them how to pull over in tractors because believe me, it don't fecki*g happen. Apologies in advance

Kenny,

I would send some Somerset farmers, but they would get lost . It's the Devon ones that show a few manners .

Still don't like tractors though

ATB,

Trevor

Hi All

At least tractors don't travel 2 or more abreast in narrow roads. Coming down to Devon again in the spring Trevor so will arrange to meet up, I'm trying to do a bit of genealogy as my family all came from around the Exeter and North Devon area.

Regards

Glyn

(hate cyclists Caravans Tractors and anything else that gets in the way of a Jag)

Glyn,

Good lad .

This is where I live .

ATB,

Trevor

Tractors are great to drive.  When I was gainfully employed as a farm labourer, I had to take a tractor from Fiddlers Ferry to Haydock, a journey of about 10 miles, with my bike tied on to the back so I could get back. Top speed about 8 mph.  I had to go via Warrington and up a small road just wide enough where I was stopped by the police for having no exhaust.  The exhaust on this venerable tractor did exist, but it was rather noisy, especially when I took it off.

The policeman cleared the road and got me out of the traffic holdup very quickly, and he never even asked me for my licence, which was a good thing as I didn't have one.

A tractor gives you the aura of power, which is not dissimilar to driving a Jaguar.

Peter.
