Hi William and welcome to the club.

Not having an X Type I can't give you and answer, but there are several owners of X Types who can.

At a guess, Bertieboy [Mark] will not only know where they are, but will also tell you how to replace them.

Regards,

Peter.

Sounds like a faulty EGR valve. Get it cleaned and check that the valve isn't sticking.

It could be a fault connecter. I would check if any of the wiring looms are rubbing. Otherwise it sounds like a faulty EGR valve.
