Hi I wonder if anyone can help I have just bought a XKR coupe 2007 portfolio model this came with no spare wheel just a compressor towing eye and locking wheel nut adaptor should this model have a spare wheel or if not have other owners sourced there own.

I don't believe that a spare wheel came as standard: Mine certainly doesn't have one.

I have read of owners sourcing their own, and of course they need a wheel wrench and a jack as well.

Hi

My S-type R had a space saver and replaced it with a full size alloy

if you have the space, then you should be able to fit, on my car it was a option

you could remove your front wheel and see if it fits in the boot

if your cars like mine with it been a R, the wheels are staggered, rears are much wider than front, I bought a front wheel for the spare, as that will fit front and rear

rear will only fit rear, as its too wide for the front, if your wheels are not staggered, then any will do,

cheers

Joe

Hi Carl,

My s type came wth a matching alloy "proper" spare wheel factory fitted.  I was an option on a 2007 s type, and probably other models. I was rather happy with that.

SWMBO and myself have just celebrated our Golden Wedding anniversary and I bought her a car  -- she had felt we didn't need two cars when I retired  but the S Type was not a shopping trolley.  Doing my bit for the universe I bought a two and and half year old Toyota Yaris Hybrid with 9,500  miles on the clock and a tyre inflator and a bottle of something to spray into the tyre.

It just too 7 days to get a matching  alloy rim, eea new tyre, a jack and wheelbrace for under £200.

Much safer.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks all for the reply's I think I will go down the route of looking for a "get me home wheel"  brace and jack. Cheers

i have the XK Convertible, and with a space saver.

It's always bothered me that if I have a flat, I would struggle to get the damaged tyre into the car to take it to repair.

Both front and back wheels are wider that the space under the boot floor where the space saver spare lives. So if I have to swap out a puncture, I wouldn't have anywhere for the damaged wheel to go. This is a really problem as I am about to start a 2 week road trip, and the car is fully loaded. That being the case, I have decided to rely on the compressor and rubber solution for a temporary fix, and call on the RAC if it is anything bigger
