Choice of Tyres?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've had an advisory on my MOT about needing new rear tyres (245/40R18) in the near future. Can I ask what make of tyre people prefer and how much you'd be prepared to pay for them?

Goodyear Eagle were regarded on a survey as the best all round tyre, I paid about £125 a wheel. They are quieter than Pirellis.

There are plenty of good tyres around, and it becomes a personal choice.

I have heard that Nexens are rather good, too.

Peter.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4's were my choice after reading every tyre test that I could find !

Do you know if the Michelin's are asymmetric?

For what its worth ,in my experience over the last few years everything is asymmetric.

Pirelli P-Zero 255/35x20 works for me! grippy, quiet and great 'feel'
