engine failsafe mode

own a 99 plate s type & recently i'm seeing a fault message stating engine fail safe mode which pops up intermittently took car to my regular mechanic with the intention of getting the faulty throttle sensor replaced but it appears jaguar have discontinued the part despite best efforts to source a replacement part including lucas sending the completely wrong bit ( am i faced with resorting to e-bay?  ) the car is my daily drive so i need it back on the road asap +  i love the car & don't want to consign the car to the scrap heap for the sake of a £60 sensor - any advice would be very gratefully received many thanks steve .
