Hi all I have just had a new clutch fitted to my Jaguar X type 2.1 petrol and it's slipping, if I come down to 2nd gear when turning into a road it slips as I accelerate and if I'm overtaking on a motorway I can feel it slip. Is there a bedding in period or could they have fitted the wrong clutch. The are suppose to be clutch specialists and have good reviews.

A clutch slipping at anytime is not good news and if so doing it is wearing. I am surprised you have not already contacted the specialist fitters or been back with the car. The sooner you get in touch with them or back to them the better, before they start trying to blame it on you and a driving style.

Best Wishes in getting it replaced, Regards, John

Could only mean its out of adjustment after the replacement  so I agree with John----go back to the Specialists

who fitted the new clutch as soon as possible because its up to them to put it right free of charge ???

Just so I am prepared, could they have fitted a mondeo kit and is there a difference ? I've hear of other garages doing this thinking they are interchangeable.

Hi Guys, I took my x type back to the garage and the mechanic said that, what I was interpreting as my clutch slipping was a misfire, he said if the clutch was slipping the rev counter would jump every time it slips, I connected my OBD scanner and I got a code P1111    P   01/01

All contributions will be gratefully received.
