  3. Hi What sort of topic is this??? Where are the pictures, we like pictures and pictures speak a thousand words I'd be interested in what these are like, as I'm looking for some myself Cheers Joe
  4. Hi AM what's that then?? Only kidding, I'm not sure how it works in a modern car stereo, but it use to be that Am and Lw use a internal antenna and Fm use the external antenna, the aerial Do you get a good reception inside your home, if so it might be a bad connection on the aerial or there's a problem with the aerial booster My s-type uses aerials built into the rear screen and then they go through a booster, then to the stereo, if the booster has failed or has a bad connection, it might struggle with am channels, but be OK with Fm as it's a lot stronger signal Cheers Joe
  5. Hi It's a shame you don't do 5w30 in jaguar spec Cheers Joe

  9. Hi You would have a right nightmare all your ecu's talk to each other and are coded to each other the 3.0 engine would need its own ecu, so it would need programing to the car, transmission, traction, abs and many other ecu's you would have to speak to a jaguar dealer to be sure swapping the engine is the easy bit, getting everything to talk together and run is a different matter cheers Joe
  10. Hi At a guess, the plugs will be different, It went facelift about 2002 and most of the electrics were changed have a look on ebay for seats and see if you can see the plugs, to check if there the same cheers Joe
  11. Hi What wheels does your car have I would say the cheapest option would be a used alloy off ebay, the space savers are ridiculously thin and there selling at over 100 pounds on eBay. You will get a alloy for a little bit more and a jack and wheel brace should be less than 50 pounds Cheers Joe
  12. Hi I'd say the linkages are either worn or dry, might just need all the joints oiling there like a clip on ball joints and when they get dry can make it notchy also they can come loose and make it difficult to select gears here is a link to a Jaguar x-type workshop manual that covers it, which can be downloaded http://www.the-colliers.net/docs/public/guides & manuals/Jaguar Workshop Manual X-Type 2001-2009.pdf hope this helps cheers Joe
  13. HI Don't if this helps, but its going to be one of these hoses, or the seperator, if its plastic may of split this is out of the workshop manual here is a link to download the manual should you need it http://www.jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepairPhotos/CarPDFFiles/SType/S-Type 2002.5-2008-FSM-Workshop.pdf?utm_source=JaguarOwnersClub&utm_medium=ForumLinks&utm_campaign=referrals cheers Joe click on the pic to make it bigger
  14. Hi Peter I should be up for it, would have to check I've got nothing else on will let you know for sure cheers Joe
  15. Hi I'd start in the engine bay, its going to be a crankcase breather or rocker cover breathers, there usually piped into the air box or induction pipework, so the engine burns them at a guess either a hose has perished or come off, then the vapours/smells are being sucker in by the heater vent with the engine warm and running you should be able to either see it or smell it, if you cant find it, get some damp start and spray it in area around the engine bay, when you find the right area, the damp start will cause the revs to raise, so you know your in the right area cheers Joe
  16. Hi Ian Looks like you have something faulty Its either going be a visit to a auto electrician or if you handy with a multimeter you can find it yourself you need connect your meter in line with the battery and put it on ameter mode and monitor the amps/current then start pulling fuses till the current/amps drop, start with anything after market thats been added I had a similar fault on my car and it ended up been a tracker in the left hand side of the boot, did not know it was there and no paper work came with car, its backup battery had failed over the years and was causing a large drain on the car battery also check all the modules in the boot and fuse box for water damage, common fault on the s-type's, which can cause a drain try keeping the car on a battery charger/trickle charger to prevent further damage to the battery and other modules, low battery voltages can cause errors and damage cheers Joe
  17. Hi All the engine fault codes are listed in that manual and should point you in the right direction cheers Joe
