I'm interested to know what sort of MPG people are getting from their 3.0 v6 petrol s types. I am currently getting around 22 MPG but  i do tend to want to get home from work quick so that isn't helping. What MPG could  i expect if i try drive more sensibly?

I've been getting c27mpg, but I have a manual and have been playing a bit with the cruise control. I averaged 32mpg on a run, and this could've been c40mpg at a steady 80 if the instant fuel economy is accurate.

29mpg around town, 37mpg on motorway, 32mpg mixed. Had a really good run on M6 the other day averaging 38mpg! but then hit traffic jam and watched the average plummet. The cat is born to high speed cruising and hates sitting around idling.

Looks like  i maybe need to lift the right foot a bit then.

I have a 2000 3.0 V6 Auto so it going to be more thirsty than the manual but I get around 22mpg around town and have got 36mpg on a motorway run with cruise control set at 60mph

I have an X204 3.0 auto and get 18mpg on a 4 mile trip to work stop start all the way. Also achieved 34mpg on a long run at around 80mph. The later 6 speed auto (ZF) cars (2002 onwards) will be better than the 5 speed auto Ford 'box early models.

I have a 2004 Auto and i get 26mpg combined

hi stu i have just check mine today after last 100 mile trip and i to have 26 average  atb  Graham

I have a 2001 3L.V6SE auto I'm getting around 32+ I did do a 270 mile round trip on just over a quarter of a tank I did put fuel cleaner in my tank and I noticed the faster I went (cough splutter over 80 mph cough cough) the less fuel I used don't know how that works out

I have the 3.0 V6 Sport, havent done a long run in it yet...

I have a 2.5 v6se on a round trip of 420 miles I got 40.9 mpg. :)

I used to get around 25mpg when I had my 3.0 but that was because the novelty of a big V6 auto hadn't worn off!!

Filled mine up to the rim today... How much do people usually spend on filling up ?

Noticed it gives me "357" miles range... anyone else get similar ?

I put 55 quid in = full tank.

Hi Christopher, Mine has a 69 litre tank. so to fill it from empty at today's fuel price, would cost £80.

Early days for me at the moment, but it's up to 24.7 MPG (96 miles round trip) i do very little around town, mainly M2 / M20 at weekends. first time i filled her £75 last time just starting to nudge red £63
