Noticed that since I got my s type I don't refer to it as a car. If we're going out I don't say we will use my car, I say we will take the jag. Never done that with any other cars I've owned (and I've had a few). Is it only me?

You're absolutely right, Tony, it's a Jag not a car , My wife always says "we're going in the Jag" with a wink. We have a few cars at the ready, but the Jag is in pole position.

something special about a Jag.

Yes I use the term "Lets take the Jag" never really thought about it until I read this post.

I don't use the term "car" since I've had the S-Type but prefer to use the full word rather than the diminutive, ie,Jaguar.

I never use the word Jag, and to me the pits was the Jeremy Claaaaarkson version of the word.

I didn't think the man had any taste at all,

Peter.

We almost always say Jag, the Discoverys are Disco's and the MGF is called Poko, but the Jag is the Jag. I've been trying to think of a suitable name, but nothing has really stuck...
