Was the 320 mm front brake disc only fitted to the more powerful V8 engine model S Type, or was it also fitted to the smaller powered models as well.

What is and which models were fitted with a Sport Suspension.

Many thanks and Regards, John

hi

think very early cars were fitted with 300mm discs and later cars were upsized to 320mm, apart from R mosels which were 365mm, later R models were dropped to 355mm would assume in cost cutting as they dropped the racing brembo's

there was sport model options, but you can only tell for sure by the color codes on the springs

not sure if discs sizes are on jaguar ids/sdd but think suspension might be

if you pm me full vin i can check and pm you the info i find

cheers

Joe

MIKE   Thanks for your post on front disc brake size.  I also have a 2005 2.7D  (reg June).  I can't get access to the rear brakes at the moment so I wondered if you could confirm that the REAR disc dimension is 288. It would be a great help!

Thanks Ian C

hi

discs sizes can change depending on year

by far the best way is to measure your own discs with a tape measue

Thanks, Joe,

Unfortunately I can't get access at the moment to check the disc measurements...back problems, no ramp, no volunteers!

I had the discs/pads successfully replaced.  For my 2005(June) 2.7D front discs are 320mm and the rear are 288mm.

Cheers
