  1. Hey everyone, I am on my first Jaguar, had it for a year now. As a previous owner of an original mini I enjoyed the small acknowledgment all us mini drivers used to give each other; a wave or a quick head light flash when passing by. Given that we are all Jaguar enthusiasts here, I think we should start acknowledging each other with a wave or flash of the lights, I think it adds to a sense of community among owners. Why not give a brief wave to other people enjoying their choice of vehicle? So if you find yourself in Dorset and some weirdo in a blue XF-R waves or flashes lights at you for no reason, that'll probably be me!

  2. Hi Mark I have checked all the info received from the suppliers of my EGR valves and there is no direct contact info to be found anywhere. The valves were purchased via ebay using the TDV6 engine as a reference point as its the same engine fitted in land/range rover as well as Jaguars but you already knew that. The company name is "top-quality-autoparts" of which there are many companies of the same name but I found by entering the name EXACTLY as I have written it in google search, it does give you the option to go straight through to their ebay site.   3. Hi Phil, welcome to the Forum. Your topic is of interest to me so I've done some research. It would seem that Aruba alloys have a poor reputation for cracking. That said, they are available in either a cast alloy or a forged alloy, the latter of which is an 'Aruba Performance' and is reputed to be stronger than the cast option. Not sure how you tell the difference mind, you'll need expert advice on that (or a more knowledgeable Forum contributor). So, if you stick with Aruba then you need the forged variety. Otherwise you could change to another style or you could step down to 17" wheels and have higher profile tyres that are likely to tolerate more abuse and give a softer ride. Either way, perhaps a chat with your local wheel/tyre specialist would be useful. Tyre option graphic attached. Hope this helps.

  4. Welcome to the club, John. The X type is a very good car, and although maligned by some [who have never driven it] is a great car to drive. I am guessing that you car is a Diesel and when looked after properly will, as in the words of a mechanic "will go on for ever". Regards, Peter.

The stud pattern should be a match anyway, that's the one most easily verified (since both are known to be 5x108, and the bore should be the same as well), offset is the most common issues when mixing wheels. If the offset mismatches by too great a margin, the wheel will be either too far outwards or too far inwards, and in front wheels that means it will touch some part of the fender or the wheel well when steering or suspension action is happening. Finding that out probably requires a test drive anyway.
