  1. My S type was picked up at 7.00 am by my mobile mechanic. MOT passed with no advisories. Diagnostic showed no codes, Full service including oil change. Cost -- £215, Rather chuffed! Peter.

  3. If the airbag light flashes it is giving you a fault code. Long for the first digit, short for the 2nd digit. So one long flash and 9 short flashes means code 19 which is fairly common - drivers airbag / clockspring. The code is repeated 3 times. See what yours is and then google airbag fault codes for a list.

  4. Hi Paul I bet previous owner used the auto mode on the steering column I turn mine off, seems daft every time you get out the column moves out the way and when you get back in the column comes back out must cause them wires to flex a lot glad you sorted it cheers Joe

  5. I had code 19 flashing at me shortly after I bought my S type. Its definitely airbag/clock spring related as you say. Bet my seller thought there was a serious problem and wanted to part with it, but in reality i just took the clock spring out and cleaned all contacts with wd40 - no issues for 18 months now! As Lazlo said, I would check every single connection point and clean them up. Its a common area for dirty connections. Dan
