  1. Was doing some errands today, and decided to fill her up with some of Esso;s finest and go a for a cruise in the country.. Considering i was crawling behind cyclists for a good while i;d say what i got from that journey wasn't too bad 3.0 V6 anyone else get those figures? I'm not really a person who likes to get around fast, but i put some decent right foot in 😉

  3. Many thanks for the replies! Although listed by parts suppliers it does seem that the later XK had no disc shields fitted to the front. Slightly surprising but as John pointed out, the calipers are very large castings, possibly leaving little room for the shields. I can rest assured now that my car seems to be as it left the factory. Thanks again for your help. Chris

  4. Broadly speaking the XF is an excellent vehicle. The only downside is ,in my opinion, if you are only doing short trips of 5-10 miles a day for instance, don't get a diesel version as the DPF ( diesel particulate filter ) will eventually need cleaning out or replacing which is quite expensive. I add Millers DPF cleaner to my fuel every second fill and so far I have da no problems in the 2 years I have owned the car. As an A road, motorway cruiser they are unbeatable so if you are going to be doing motorway driving as well as town driving you will be fine . If only short trips/town driving, go for a petrol engine. Having said all that the XF is a quality vehicle and a joy to drive. I get about 37mpg locally and 50 mpg on a long run from my 2.2 litre.

  5. You can retrofit cruise control quite easily IIRC 😉 I'm constantly surprised by the old girls economy 😉
