  1. That feeling does not go away Paul, got mine about 8 months ago and still loving it.
  2. Welcome to the Club, Sean. I Don't know about the latest model, mine is 2013 so it is an X250, not the current x260 model but mine has a Hard Drive for the Satnav. It also has the ability to RIP 10 Cds onto it plus has a USB port which can contain as many CDs as you can fit on the memory stick used. I would have thought that the newer models would have at least this level if not more.
  3. I have a 2013 model as well Paul, with the HDD your sat Nav should initialise only for a few seconds and then show the warning regarding using it while te vehicle is in motion one you press I agree it starts up. I also updated the maps to 2018 which is the latest release it made a big difference although the upgrade is supplied on a USB Memory Stick and takes between 2.30mins and 3.00 hours o update (best done on a long drive). Sounds like you have a fault in yours. Bill
  4. Welcome to the Club, Paul. Many happy miles in your XF.
  5. Nice piece of welding. I make the same New Year Resolution every year. NO NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS!
  6. Welcome to the Forum, I had a 2.5 v6 AWD X-Type some years back, I intermittently had the Engine Warning Light come on and stay on. The Garage I bought it from checked it and deleted the light a few times but after a month it kept coming back on, they had an Auto Electrician have a look at it and he traced it to a Faulty ABS Sensor. Apparently these Sensors faults were regular on the X-type although in the five years I had mine this was the only issue I ever had with the car.
  7. I am fortunate that I very seldom have to drive in Lage Town/Cities as I Live in a small town in the Country.
  8. Hi Buckley, I have had mine for just over six months now and although not really too bothered with MPG I am pleased to say that it is much more frugal on fuel than my last wheels (Volvo 2.4d XC90). The Volvo used to return around 29-30mpg running local and 33mph on a long trip. I am getting mid to high 40s just round about locally and just over 59mpg on long Motorway Trips (of which I have had two, One from Scotland to York & the Other Scotland to Shropshire), not to mention the XF is £380 per year cheaper on VED as well. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine.
  9. Welcome to the Forum, Gareth. I also had an X-Type several years ago and now pleased to be back in the Jaguar.
  10. Feel your pain, Ray. Not the sort of thing you want over Christmas especially.
  11. I have the same problem re my Garage it sits at right angles behind our house. The driveway is very narrow and you need to reverse it in as you would have no vision exiting straight onto the street reversing out. When reversing in you had to turn 90 deg to get into the garage also with not a lot of room for this manouvre. The last car I managed to get in was a Triumph Acclaim I had when we moved in here in 1983. Even then you had to fold the mirrors in and that only left 2 inches from the back of the mirrors to the walls on either side. Needless to say my cars since the Acclaim, Vauxhall Carleton, Jaguar X-Type (twice), Nissan X-Trail, Volvo XC90 and currently Jaguar FX have never enjoyed the luxury of being indoors. It is a large garage and only used for storage now.
  12. Welcome to the Forum, John. Enjoy your new car I got my 2.2d XF six month ago and love it. (this is my third Jaguar, although not consecutively, I had two X-Types some time ago.
  13. Welcome to the Forum, Ray. Sorry to hear about your problems. Never had an issue with my XF (only had it 5 months) but I had an issue with the last car Volvo XC90. a few weeks after I got it I filled up with fuel at a supermarket and the car was rough running although in fairness it never broke down. Since then I have always used Premium Fuel and like Pet use Miller's Diesel Power Eco Max with a dose in every 4th or 5th tank fuel. I can't claim it improves MPG either in the Volvo or the Jaguar but both run really smoothly with this regime.
  14. Welcome to the Forum, Stephen.

  17. Welcome to the forum, Kalvy. Like Peter I also used to have a 2.5 v6 AWD X-Type one of the most reliable cars I ever owned.
